Just wondering if anyone had a favourite history podcast they'd like to recommend? Personally I'm a fan of Dan Carlin's Hardcore History and the (slightly similar) 2 Cent History, as well as Binge Think History and Historyzine. The China History Podcast is also quite fun too. Anyone got any other suggestions?

I have to admit I've never ever listened to any podcasts so far, but now that you mentioned history podcasts I might just give it a try to see if it helps me learn a bit more about medieval Europe. I'm currently checking out podcasts about medieval history (which is my personal main focus) - if I find any good ones I'll surely let you know.

Thanks very much! Trying to think if I know of any for that period, but none are springing to mind - still, if you find anything... oh wait, I certainly remember a crusades podcast over on iTunes that might suit?

The first useful podcasts I found were from the University of Oxford, which has a very wide range of fields you can choose from. While my main interest lies in medieval English history and literature and I have therefore mainly been lookings for those, there are also a lot of podcasts from other fields of humanities as well as natural sciences, law etc.

I simply googled "medieval history podcasts" to find more and there really are a number of blogs that offer podcasts, but most of those I've found so far have only published very little or have even stopped updating their sites. I'm currently checking out "All Things Medieval", however, which you recommended via PM.

I'll have to get around to checking it myself - my first specialisation was Medieval History, but the early part - 1066 - 1160 or so. I think I'll have a look at the Oxford ones next - really I should get around to more of the ones that Historyzine recommends, it was there that I got the one I mentioned to you, and others have been brought up too.

Good Idea Eustace, I think I'll look at some of these. I don't have any to recommend, because I haven't really thought of listening to any recently.
