Mine was a Hanwei schlager...rapier, rather than a sword, I suppose....;) Great fun though!! As I use mine against people, and I want them (and me!) to be alive the next day to fight them again, all mine are blunt and tipped.

Chaotic blue....using a KATANA to PRUNE???? lol!!!

I have a sword but I don't know what kind it is. I know that the hilt has a dragon on it. While the scabbard is black, the blade is curved, and it sits in a stand that came with the weapon. It weighs a bit too. I can take some pictures and post them to show you all. The sword is very nice but I'm curious as to what I must do in order for the blade to retain its brightness and not become dull. I have never used the blade because it is mainly for show. Any have any suggestions? Thanks.

My first actual sword was my Limited Edition Anduril, though I bought Sting, the Uruk-Hai scimitar, and several knives before I got that :)

Does it looks anything like this?

If it does, it's stainless steel, so don't worry about it.

    Don't cut with it either.

A couple of weeks ago I got my first "real" sword...but it's not really that real, unfortunately. It's a "recreational" sword and deliberately blunt and kinda retractable. So, to be perfectly honest, it's not really my first real sword, I'm still working on that.

Still, what I have right now allows me to practise and do that sword techniques course. It's probably a stainless steel blade (or so we've - the others doing the lessons - guessed) and gets marked waaay too easily *sigh* It's got a little etched thing near the hilt, and the hilt is decorated somewhat. I've come to the conclusion that it's not exactly going to last me very long...

I want a functional sword! And a pair of sais! And other things. Too bad I'm broke and don't have the space anyway.

My first swords (I say swords because I got 5 of them in a set for Christmas on year) and only swords I currently own are cheap pakistani ones: A claymore, two swords that I'm not sure what they are called but are each medieval looking and around 30 inches in length, a katana, and a light calvary saber. I'm too afraid to hit anything with them but I do sling all but the claymore (too heavy and long for living room use) around at invisble foes sometimes.
