I just watched a show on the History channel last night, on how they make katanas, and it was incredibly awesome. I have a new respect for katanas.

Scimitars and Katanas are viewed as the coolest weapons because they were common in the cultures of Arabs and Japanese, the two cultures who made the finest swords and were also the first to discover steel.

Ah the one owned by Fergus mac Róich. Nice bit of Irish myth coming in there.

Twin daggers, lightly curved. Legolas's blades from the LOTR series are a perfect example. now if i could find a replica set NOT made by united cutlery, and preferably semi functional :)

A sythe as a weapon is ultimate to me.

It is the most awkward weapon to use, i bet, but when used correctly, it is hard to beat someone weilding one. even say if your a master at sword play, someone with basic knowledge with a sythe could probably take him lol

If you can only think of a few moves with the sythe... think more :D lol

To me a scythe in the right hands is pretty formidable but it's got no more use than any other slashing pole arm and the sheer awkwardness of it would make it less useful than a glaive with the right length of shaft. And once a swordsman gets into striking distance the scythe fighter loses his advantage because his weapon won't work as well at that range. This is of coarse assuming that both fighters are of equal skill and that the swordsman gets into range, but if he does the scythe guy is toast. The only time that a "mediocre" fighter is likely to beat a "master" in a weapons fight is when the mediocre guy has a ranged weapon and the other guy doesn't, and even then if we're talking fantasy weapons then the melee master has a chance if he thinks clearly enough.

Either twin cutlasses or a good old Gunblade.
