yes, I hope they remembered that
Look at the poster for ROTK, the one with Aragorn holding Anduril in front of him.......
Sorry i dont know my terms...but look at the sides of the cross...
on narsil it just has the gold fittings, but no runes here...but in this picture it looks to me like there are some ruins written there
Also if you look at the top where there are ruins on narsil...there are ruins but they don't look the same as narsil's...I've been comparing a little and I know they are very blurry, but they just don't look the same as on Narsil
Maybe I'm wrong about the second part, but I'm fairly sure on the first part...let me know what ya think.
Look on the left of the cross...to me it looks like small markings across the left and top of it
Am I just seeing things? lol
Ok I looked at every picture I had of Anduril, and the markings you speak of are just not theer in my eyes anyway. I hope and wish that some super sluth will find a hint of markings on either the blade or the hilt that noone elses has seen. But I think that New Line and United were very carful not to let any pics of Anduril out untio they are good and ready for us to see them. I kep hoping however,
Here is a pic I got that shows the area you talked about and it is slick as ribbon.
Maybe it's just a scan mark or something I'm seeing, but I see small marks on the upper left side of the end of the cross. On the picture you posted swordsman the area I talk about is too dark to see anything
If I'm right(which probably isnt the case), that's a great pic to release since any area that has ruins(sides of cross and pommel) are too dark to see anything
is it the runes on the blade or pommel that we are talking about?
for on BBBs homepage there is a translation of the text on the blade:
"The inscription down the length of the blade on both sides is in the Tolkien language of Quenya, written in the runes of Eregion, that say "Nányë Andúril i né Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i máli Mordórëo". This translates to "I am Andúril who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the thralls of Mordor flee me."
As for the sun and seven stars they are there.
look at where the crossguard meets the blade, its a sun if you have abit om imagination.
Then you have the stars between the "words".
This thread was started before we seen the official pictures showing the runes. Now that we have the pictures all the speculation that we had fun with here in this thread is now over. Our site does indeed show the correct appernance of the runes on the blade and you are right on in the translation!
