Would you save the dog or the human?

    And why does a difference in species automatically mean that they are neglectful? Dogs aren't a neglectful breed. Maybe your own dogs have been neglectful, but you have no means to tar them all with that same brush.

    I've read many stories of dogs not only protecting their own, but protecting and looking out for their owners children. One in particular that comes to mind is when a boy got injured out on a walk in the mountains with his staffordshire bull. The boy was injured and couldn't move and the dog never left his side. He even started to snarl at the police officers who found him 20 or so hours later. If that's called neglectful then the definition needs to be re written.

    I'd try to save both, I heard dogs know how to swim so maybe I'd try to save the human first (unless he's a major turdblossom)
