... at the base... he IS a worm... even if he could be good, he was weak, and easily corrupted...
In ROTK EE he does revert back to being the good wormtongue for like a second.
I agree with Anakin. I think Gríma was only misunderstood, so he turned to the dark side.
Grima was inherently bad...thats my opinion...deal with it
grima was not evil he was possesed, he did some good things in his eyes!
Well, Grima might have loved Éowyn, but when love becames obsession it is no longer love but a twisted and misinterpreted sense of it, Grima is a victim of his own mind, but that doesn´t make him good, Grima works aside Saruman to destroy Rohan.
I don't know the full extent of Sarumans powers, but grima was under his control, even theodan was. But i don't know, if given the choice without sarumans influence, would he do the same.
I put that he was misunderstood because I think he was truly good at heart. I don't think he really wanted to do all those evil things, but I think he just did them out of fear. I mean, in the end he does redeem himself by killing Saruman.
Well I don't know, I have the impression that he killed Saruman because he was always putting Grima down, you know, kicking him, telling him to crawl and stuff.
I think Grima is neither misunderstood nor bad and evil.
He is a weak person with very few charakter and own personality. He does what saruman says and uses his abilities for what seems the best to him without thinking about the consequences.
If saruman would win the battle against the Rohirim and Sauron would rule over Middle Earth, Grima would end as a slave, not more and not less than a slave.
I think Grima is a Character that represents a part of the humans in the real world. People who don't think about what will be and just do, what seems to be the right.
But I voted for bad and evil
Yes he is weak, but he is evil. Even if he was pushed by Saruman: at the end he kills him, for his own good! He is pure evil in my opinion.
i disagree i think wormtongue was basicaly just a slimy coward. at least gollum was corrupted by lust for the ring. wormtongue was sneaky and mean and i'm sorry i feel no pity whatsoever for him. the end.
I wouldn't call him evil..just a sniveling coward. No offense!
Yea he was evil. He was malicious and power hungry, and they say orcs were foul.
Seriously female orcs are sexy!
Of course they are, who wouldn't want a woman that can tear down the house.
I think he was just very selfish, don't know if that's evil or not.
I think he was to week to be evil, he was more like...kinda bad...
I think Grima was not that evil compared to Saruman, he was a mere pawn. He did what he was bidden, if he wasnt evil then he wouldnt have followed Saruman. Misunderstood?.. nah, I think he was realizing his deeds were bad.
He knew very well. Again, he was malicious, and so god damn pale..
Malicious? I don't see it, he did what he did out of fear for his own life and possible attainment of minimal power through Saruman.
Yes, perhaps he did fear Saruman, that if he betrays the white wizard, he would've probably end up dead. Though, I doubt it, I think he wanted it and enjoyed it. Although he was Sarumans loyal servent, he was no less evil than Saruman himself. Maybe cause I think that he was too greedy, he wouldve killed for anything he wouldve wanted.
Grima is not evil.
He's just extremely confused, uncertain, lonely, sad... Nobody loves him.
And nobody in Rohan respects him, so maybe he feels that he must change side, and maybe then he'll get more respect (which he doesn't, anyway).
But I think his life is too tragic and sad.
Really, we all feel sorry for Gollum, don't we?
Well, with Grima, it's almost the same. He's had such a tragic life, and he's taken all the wrong decisions- but we all do wrong, don't we?
He's only human..
And I think he even hates himself, or at least he is really uncertain about himself, and that's not good. :duh:
Poor, poor Grima, he only wants to be loved, like everybody else, but he's got himself into this terrible mess instead...
