    So we're a nation made up of people who are descended from immigrants, go back far enough and so is every country.

    A person born and raised in America is as much a real American as a person born and raised in China is a real Chinese person or a person born and raised in Germany is a real German.

    Yeah but a person who immigrated to another country 10 years ago or 20 years ago or less,can't even speak the country's language properly and has been given the nationality because he's a good athlete,does that person count?I think it sucks.

    Yea but America is only a few hundred years old. Most countries have enough personality or physical trait to label them as so and so. It's hard to say "that person is American" just from physical appearance.

    Happens with every country, we just happen to be the biggest gravy train it seems

    Going by a pure physical basis doesn't really tell you much and can be wrong plenty often. It's a moot point.

    Imo the only time nationality can ever effectively be told by physical characteristics is with some Asian people, and even that's only good for a few countries.

    Yeah, it can generally be told with Asian countries. But generally not African or European unless you're REALLY good at that stuff. And australia doesn't count X{

    Even with asian countries nothing is sure fire. You can tell the region of the continent but that's the only sure thing usually

    You strike me more as the type that couldn't tell the difference between a Chinese person and a Thai person

    It's pretty easy to tell a Chinese person from an Egyptian. You can tell the differences in asiatic people and same with many European and African countries.

    You can't really see an "American" though. They don't have any distinctive descent. They have no real ethnicity as a whole, no common ancestry.

    Now I'm not saying it should matter where you come from, it doesn't mean you cannot represent a country you've grown up in for ages. I'm just saying there's no real defined "American".

    I somewhat agree with Met. Everyone who lives in America is American. But they also have ansestory, for instance, Ray is French-Canadian, I'm Italian/German/Irish. But i'm also an American. So is Ray. It depends on what way you look at it.

    That's putting it in much clearer terms than you had before. Regardless it's still a moot point given the original context.

    Fortunely they get tested. And the epic pwned when their country-men eat them as biscuit at tea time. Thats atleast what we do in sweden, but we eat them to the "fika" instead.
