Salvatore (though he is the only one I've read thus far)

The Thousand Orc's; I love the banter between the Dwarves

The Hunters Blade Trilogy is probably my favorite series, I'm finishing the third book now.

I suppose I'll have to be typical and say that Drizzt is my favorite character, though I think the Harpells are a riot, and there are a few of the Dwarves I get a kick out of also.

So far, I've only read 3 of Elaine Cunningham's books in the Songs & Swords. It's decent, although the books are rather short. But how do these books by all different authors relate to each other?

I've really only read Salvatore, so he's got my default favourite Forgotten Realms author vote. As for series, I like Drizzt a lot, but I read the Icewind Dale Trilogy first...so it's a bit of a toss-up between the Dark Elf set and the Icewind Dale trilogy...I think I'd have to go with the Icewind Dale trilogy... mebbe...

I'm hoping the other series all come out in boxed sets...otherwise I've been waiting to read them for no reason. :(

Ive only read Salvatore (ive only read the Dark Elf Trilogy) so id say he's my favourite FR author. Favourite characters include Drizzt and Gwyenheahdfndnvmnd (whatever his panthers name is).

    Guenwhyvar?

I liked Elayne Cunningham's books. Danilo Thann is one of my favourite characters and there's something about Eliath that you can't help but respect. The Starlight and Shadows series was also an entertaining read although it's been years since I looked at it.

Everyone should check out the Avatar series. It charts the Time of Troubles, when the Gods were cast out by Ao and magic failed. It's quite a dark series but the events in it affected and guided the paths of almost every other Forgotten Realms book, as well as the computer games. The Baldur's Gate games are a direct result of it. As Salvatore has guided much of the development of this world these did the same.

I can't say for sure, but I think that many of them are unrelated other than the fact that they take place in the same world / setting.

And yes the panther is cool too!

The only auther that ive read under is Ed Greenwood, who (if ther is any fans out there besides meself), wrote the Elminster series. My favorite book by ed green wood is (considering ive only read the first two or three) probably the first book(Elminster:the making of a mage.)

    Definitely R. A. Salvatore.

My favorite book would probably be.. hmm.. the hunter's blade trilogy is nice, but I really like the first three (The Crystal Shard, Streams of Silver, The Halfling's Gem).

As for my favorite character from those books... it'd probably have to be the infamous Artemis Entreri. Dark, devious, and deadly. What's not to love? :-D

I've only read the Salvatore but wow, what an author. 18 seperate books of epic tales. Adventure and Quests. Dragons and Wizards ... what more could any reader ask for. Added to that Salvatore's dry wit and skill with dialogue makes the books a pleasure to read.

I recently read The Witches Daughter by Salvatore. It's is outside of the FR setting. I have to say that I prefer his writing when he's not stuck on Drizzt.

I like Elaine Cunningham myself. I loved both of the Windwalker trilogy and Songs and Swords.

Favorite characters: Elaith Craulnober, Liriel Baenre, Danilo Thann, Sharlarra, and Thorne.

I've only read some of salvatores books so I guess I wuold have to say he's the best author. As for the character I'd say Drizzt. I know that's kinda boring but I just love elves and he is so handsome(in my head anyways :) ). He also have great battle skills. I kinda pity him also...

the first book I read was the legacy of the drow - collectors edition and after finishing that I emidiatly went to the bookstore to steem my hunger. then I've read dark elf trilogy and icewinddale trilogy(which i think was just to focused on Regis...). I so want to read paths of darkness but it has not been in the store and I long until the relese of huntersblade trilogy in sweden....

right now I'm reading the cleric quintet but I can't really relax and enjoy the reading since I know I wont be meeting Drizzt... In this book Danica rules!!

Just want to mention i love Salvatore extra much because of the battles!!!
