well i would be Celtic because i am a celt. and they kick butt!
yeah I'd have to say Celtic too. they're awesome.
kick butt man celts all the way
Well I am Celtic, so that ends that lol And I know for a certainty that no Celt ever wants to swap that title for an English one lol
Which era of Celts might we be talking about? Celts were originally a Northern German people... The term "Celt" actually has little historically to do with Scottish people at all, except for the fact that they were descendants (from about 1,500 years prior to the Medieval Era) of Celts which Migrated to Britain.
I would definitely rather be a Celt than most regular British things, except for the fact that many of the original British people are in fact Celtic in ancestry as well! The Celts at one time overran all of Britain, and were enemies of the British Romans. They slowly came under the power of Anglo-Saxon's who migrated from upper France and other area's that were also originally, you guessed it, of Celtic heritage.
So, I suppose I'd be a Celt, since they're all Celts
Well, it's a flawed question, so I asked for you to be more specific. British people and Celts are the same in many ways. They are different in others. If you could state a more specific time period, groups of Celts/Brits, then I think more people (who are informed) would be able to answer easily.
Celtics--they have such a beautiful culture
Lol... That's a laugh. I don't care how Celtic you are, because that doesn't make you a master of your own heritage, just because it's there. That's called ignorance, not intelligence..! (EDIT: A good example... I know people who are of Celtic ancestry, and they still use the term "Selt" like the American Basketball team instead of saying "Kelt" just because they're that misinformed!)
Tell me Boromir, when did the first Celts invade Rome. What did they fight like. When did they migrate West. When did they likely cross into Britain, what kind of major tribes did they split into. Where are "Celt Iberians" from, etc... etc... etc... There is sooo much to know about Celts, and MOST of it has NOTHING to do with Scotland or England AT ALL!
Thanks Greg, that really needed to be said. Some people just annoy me (boromir) when they just wont let things be.
English and the Celts are pretty much the same thing, The English race developed from the Celts, I am Celtic too as my Family is dominantly Irish.
*shrugs* I'm not sure- I don't think either were particularly great. And well said Greg, chill a little Boromir ^^
The post by Boromir has since vanished, and I'll note that my response below Tatharlin's was directed at a certain Boromir character's post, and not Tatharlin's (in case that confuses any new viewers)
celtic is a very beautiful culture and people so i would have to say i would be a celt (case closed).
I love the " I love celtic culture because its beautiful" its funny. Do you poeple who love Celtic culture know that Celts would behead their fallen foes and preserve thier heads i ntheir homes as a way to gaurd their homes? Not very beautiful if you ask me.
And then there is the lovly Celtic knot/vine work you see on all kinds of stuff. it bears a very striking resembelance to Nordic vine work.
And ther its the lovly trademark "celtic" red hair which more than lilkey came from Danish vikings invading the British Isles.
Never mind the fact that the Celtic tribes came from Western Europe and migrated the the British Isles probably pushed their by the invading "germanic" tribes some of which eventually also migrated to the Isles.
And to answer the question, seeing how I am of Scots, English and POlish decent, I dont relaly think I would have much a of a choice but I also claim to be of Danish or other Nordic decent by vrtue of my red hair so its kind of a moot question. And rember the Danes were the ones that ruled a lrage chunk of England and I beleive Scotland for a while.
english cooler bows
From Braveheart, I guess so.
Celts are a lot cooler, I agree with that.....
Why do we get Ancient Greek and Latin at school? Celtic would be way cooler ^^
