Swordsman, Do you think there is a possibility that UC might make other functional LOTR swords? I imagine the demand for a functional Anduril or Glamdring could be quite high.

    Thanks. :D

Heyy, I'm hoping United Cutlery will make more Orcish pikes, spears & sickles. Like the ones they used in The Two Towers; the Warg Riders' weapons.

Well there is a lot of ifs here. FIrst if they make it, it will be as competitive in price as you would want. I would at least figure double of what a normal LOTR sword would cost. THey sell for around 200 to 300 a piece. And that also depends on how functional or ornate they want to go with it. I am sure they will make one that is affordable and reasonable for that particular part of the market. As far as what it would cost at BBB...well it is way to early to specualate on that. I guess the best thing to do now is to first see what UC has in mind then go from there. LIke I said a lot ifs hee ..still to early yet!

    I want a replica of Sauruman's bomb.
And Grond - the battering ram.
    And fully kitted out Oliphant.

(Sorry about all the mini suggestions - but I am running out of wall space for all these swords!)

Hey UC - How about a few more sword s with horizontal wall mounts?

Actually - The spears would be nice.

Or the banners - those would make great backings for the wall displays!

banners as backings, hey thats a good idea...gives me a few ideas there... :)
LWK already made...so i'm happy for now, can't remember if i posted here before or what i said..but i guess i'd like to see everything possible made in the end. No preferred one at the moment...

Faramir's would be pretty cool though...so would sam's seeing how he played such an important role...especially when he dual wielded sting and his sword... that was a great movie moment i think.. so yes..sam's sword :)

Hey how about the Horn of Boromir?
That would be great next to the sword.

Lets not forget the most heroic death in all 3 movies!

    Horn of Boromir - Awesome.

Sword of Boromir - Even better.

A functional Sword of Boromir - Best. :)

i'm holding out for a Palantir replica...hit a button and the insides start glowing and swirling around. man that would be sweet. As for swords, I'd like to see the fellowship swords of the hobbits. I'd line them all together with Sting on one wall. I think that would look great.

    Hey Swordsman**

What about the Elven Warrior Sword?

We all know it's in the works to be made, but will it be:

a.) Sharpened like Sting, but not Battle Ready
    b.) Battle ready & Sharpened
c.) Not battle Ready and Un-Sharpened

I would MOST DEFINITELY prefer it if was sharpened at the very least, since its not really a sword persay, more of a hacking/slicing weapon. But BAttle Ready would be good too, but again the costs might skyrocket for that one as it is huge.
Just as long as it has sharp edges and a sharp point like STING, then most of us who want it should be happy.

AND WITH A SHEATH!! Can't leave that laying around or hanging on the wall naked can we??

    Also...

If you don't mind can I add another question? I want to know if the Elven Warrior Sword will have a full, full length, or a rat-tail tang?

Any likely answer will be really appreciated !!

Even a rat-tail tang's going to have to be a sturdy one on the EWS. It has to, otherwise the sword will break because of the length of the hilt.

In fact, for the EWS, it almost makes more sense to have a full tang, since you save materials by just making one long piece of steel. It also doesn't abruptly change shape like a regular sword, so a full tang would be more workable.

    Re: Also...

The EWS is a single edged weapon. So it should come sharpened like all the single edged weapons UC has made. THe only esxception was "Sting" they chose to make it sharpened for some reason. THe tang construction is as much a gues as yours on how it will be constructed. I'm almost surer however it will be of rat tail consturction. I see no reason for them to change this feature now. BUt who know, we will have to wait and see. Functional? I dont think so

I love the shape of Boromir's sword!
How heavy would the replica be - the movie version looks huge (at least 4 inches wide at the guard!)
Would a rat-tail tang be able to support that kind of blade weight - even in a non-functional replica?
