We're all fantasy fans here, right? So I was wondering which real life beer brand do you think would be "real Dwarven beer" in fantasy world?

You can choose up to 3 different brands or variations of a brand.

For example I'm all for Paulaner Weissbier,Paulaner Salvator and probably Murphy's Irish Stout.

lol - the way I see it, Dwarven beer needs to be murky, tasting slightly stale - and grow hairs on the chest of women.

Guiness comes to mind - it's got the right texture, all right. But I think it's too sweet, really. And there's not too much alcohol anyway.

Paulaner is a good way there, yes. It IS murky all right. And there's alcohol all right. But it's pretty good to drink - very good even. So I think it disqualifies...

There IS a beer I know of that will grow hair on the teeth of even a schoolgirl, though... Chibuku[/i], with a variable percentage of alcohol and the general feeling of oatmeal will even make the heaviest drinker quaver, I assure you... but it doesn't froth...

But to be honest, of all the beers I know, something like Hoegaarden comes closest. It's slightly sour, it's down-right murky (yeast sediment!) - and it's got about 5,5% (though it could have dome with some more).

Since their taste was ground to non-exsistance in the gravel and dust of the mines?

Since growing or preparing anything underground is bound to taste like somewhere between, cardboard, damp cloth and roast rat?

    Something like that...

Seeing as the dwarves are master brewers and are known to be tough and have a high alcohol tolerance, I would think only finely crafted high-percentage beers would do the trick. Belgian Beer comes to mind.
