    Well, saw a thread on overrated movies, so here's one on movies that have lived up to the billing. Which movies do you guys think belongs to this category? Well, for me two movies stand out, namely Return of the King and Prince Caspian. It's really been a blast watching them. Bummer I don't have the Extended Edition of RotK. :(

    Anyway, do give your picks. :)

    Revenge of the Sith surpassed expectations I think. Everyone was expecting it to be disappointing like the other prequils and instead it ended up being almost as good as the original trilogy

    Well agreed, but on the other hand I wasn't disapointed by the first two and yes that means I've seen them lol

    prince caspian? really? there were a few scenes but on the whole I thought it was fairly sub par, particularly the running joke on caspian keeping susan's horn in case he needed to "call me again sometime".

    Grave of the fireflies, Fallen Angels, Salute of the Jugger. Those 3 spring to mind first. I didn't think any of those would be fantastic but they all were.

    Same here, I thought Batman Begins was good, but not as good as the Burton movies, though the Dark Knight changed my mind.

    Ah yes Adina you reminded me of one; Grave of the Fireflies was just as great as I heard it would be. Really amazing film.

    I think I cried for most of that movie. I can't imagine anyone with matured emotions not crying during that film.

    I'm not surprised that the Dark Knight has already been mentioned. It's the first relatively recent movie that came to my mind.

    few filme make this list;

    Ghibli - so far all have met/exceeded my expectations and the hype - Grave of the Fireflies should really come with a box of tissues!
    LotR :)
    Batman - the new second film -- first film dropped the quality at the last hurdle, this one kept it going thoughout.

    for now that is all I can think of
    oh wait - Star Wars 4,5,6 :)

    Versus also ended up living up to my expectations, not too difficult since my thoughts were "That cover is badass, hopefully the movie will be too" and it turned out to be so
