Does anyone else have the Wheel of Time atlas, officially titled The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, and what do you think of it?

I like it alot. It really goes into depth about each country, and the people who live there. It is actually much more than just an altas. It goes into depth about history of the world, the enemy, even the Age of Legands. I would recommend it to anyone who is a big fan of The Wheel of Time.

There's an atlas? Amazing, I have never seen it. I will have to get it though.

Do they officially give a name to the world? or do WoT fans have to still refer to it as Randland:p

It was originally published in 97 so many bookstores may not have it in stock. They dont give a name to the world in the book. They have the book on amazon, just do a serch using wheel of time. I have to say that when I orginally called it an atlas I wasn't really thinking, because it is so much more than an atlas. It tells about the forsaken, the different people of the world. It discussed the breaking, and even goes into the prophacy of the dragon. I really dont know what to call it.

I've seen it at Waldenbooks before, it is really cool! I want one. The one I saw also had all of the cover art in the middle, it was really nice.

Thats the one. I also like the pictures of the individual(sp?) characters spread out through the books. It gives you a face to put with a name, not always what I imagined they would look like.

It also has stories about Shara and the Land of The Madman, it also includes maps of said continents. Its an awesome read, every time u look at it, u learn something new. I especially like learning about the Betrayer. ;)

It is definately cool, it has a lot of information about the nations in the past and so much history of the land.

The only problem, and this may just be me, is that the illustrations are absolutely hideous. I want to go through my book and magic marker them all out. Most of the pictures are even worse than the "Lord of Chaos" cover, if you can believe that (even though that cover would make an excellent romance novel cover). A couple are somewhat mediocre, but the rest are awful. For example, the picture of the Drakhar. Makes me want to scream!

So definately read the book, just don't look at the pictures.

Hmm, I must have a newer version, mine doesn't have any illustrations in it all. Except that maps, and the little borders around the maps. Perhaps they got a bad rap and they took them out for the re-print.

Hee hee, you mean Rand looking all tough with that nice pink background? Seriously I don't even like the cover illustrations. The boys looks like they are 35-40, when they are only early twenties. The one exception I've seen so far it TDR, where at least Mat and Perrin look like young boys.
