Not to mention most likely tortured and your soul offered up in eternal service/torment to him.

I'll take my chances with the God-Emperor of Mankind methinks.

Nope, he's just a big fascist. At least the chaos gods bring change, whereas the emperor is a centuries-old fossil who wants to preserve the status quo. Anyway, the tyranids are going to kill off all the races in the universe, except for the Necrons perhaps...:)

Tyranids aint going to do anything. An entire Hive Fleet was held off by just the Ultramarines. That's the only badass thing they've ever done.

Mind you, in this new edition the Impreium is supposed to fall apart. There's nothing fascist about the Emperor. The imperium just uses his name for their own shit because he's busy supporting the entire damn astronomicon.

I think he's dead, and has been for centuries. Humans are doomed. Apparently in the tyranid books it hints that they are going to win in the end, wiping out all the other species. Like I said, I don't play, so it might just be a rumour or something...:)

He's not dead. The astronomicon would collapse without him. He's left his physical body and has become and entity in the warp, which in 40k terms constitutes becoming a God.

The fluff of Warhammer 40k has nothing to do with playing the game. You just have to read all the material and stuff. Tbh that's where all the good stuff really is at.

I'd rather just paint...GW produces way too much stuff around its games for me to bother with. I like my games simple, just like me.:)

Some of the authors are good, others are...barely adequate. I've read some of the Fantasy books and the quality tends to vary quite a bit.^_^

    That's the Fantasy :(

The 40k one's are much better. Dan Abnett and William King writing the best novels so far.

I've really enjoyed both those authors.
I like the Space Wolves. I havn't read enough history on anybody to make a real good judgment. I'm a bigger Imperial Guard fan.

How are the Space Wolves even remotely boring? They are one of the most amazing chapters. The Ragnar books are just epic. A shame William King stopped writing, but the 2 people writing as Lee Lightner are not bad.

The boarishness makes them awesome... and the fact that they are as obsessed with wolves as myself.

Funny is good. Space Marines take themselves far too seriously. They're nearly as bad as the Tau...
