Eldar is basicaly a shooty army. Honestly I reccomend some generic Spehss Mehreen(Chaos or Loyalist, doesn't matter) for learning(Ultrasmurfs turn out to be pretty good at that actualy)

No. But they don't suck in melee nearly as much. Some time ago a Spehss Mehreen Dark Angel army could also be made shooty though I don't know if its possible now.

Always been a chaos player. I have a Khorne army for 40k and I have a Chaos Warriors army for fantasy battle which has units dedicated to each of the chaos powers, I also have a lord, and various heroes for each god too so I can vary the army that I use. I also have an Ogre Kingdoms army too.

My 4th ed army was split halfway and it performed pretty well. Deathwing with Ravenwing support. The 5th ed cost increases killed that list tho :/ Haven't played since everyone moved away right as 5th was being released.

I have a 40k Tzeentch dedicated chaos army. Tremble before the power of change:

It's the dreaded loose change! Yeah eventually I'll be doing armies in 40k for the other gods of chaos too, starting with Slaanesh, then Nurgle and finally Tzeentch

Ok, seriously though, Tzeentch is my personal favourite chaos god. I just see his concept as the correct philosophy.(And as one of his chosen Daemon Princes I am totally not trying to make you join him, I am merely interested in saying what I think is right. And being a chosen sorcerer to one of the most intelligent beings in the galaxy, I should be more right than you! So folks, make the logical choice - join Tzeentch, get extra change!)

I started a Demons of Chaos army, mostly slannesh based but I was going for most of the gods - however I was going to do it all convertable so that it would work with 40K and Warhammer - sadly I've never got around to modding all the stuff. And now they've released a whole new fantastic wave of Tyranids (who are - of course - the best 40K army). So I'm actually in the process of thinking about selling the chaos army on and going all out tyranid (kinda still on the fence because I did ebay hunt to get a good few things in metal that I liked like Slannesh and knorn demons and a lord of change).

I'm all about making the models these days, so couldn't care less about the gameplay. For the lore and the models I just love Chaos. So I'm gonna say Chaos Space Marines for 40K and Daemons of Chaos for Fantasy
