It was early in the morning and my neighbor from across the courtyard had just gotten her kids off to school when she noticed something slightly out of place at my house. She rushed to get her iPhone and shot this pic... can you spot the thing that should not be in the photograph?

Hmm I see an animal on the fountain, but that's normal.

ummm... I see the animal Overread is talking about, but is there something wrong with the front door? The outer door looks OK but through the window in it, there are some white lines visible that might be another, inner door falling down...? I can't see anything else that even looks remotely weird, especially in the middle of the photo. If people want to take a picture of something unusual, they usually centre it in a picture.

Ok, now the suspense is killing me......

The squirrel seems normal (although do you get them well south of Georgia? [Florida is it? Can't remember]) but I am caught by the door… it looks as if it's further back than it should be? (not looking at the white bit that might be a fallen inner-door).

There's nice script written on the door, but knowing you that's normal…

Is that a picture over your door?

There's a TARDIS on the far left.

I'm not sure that's a squirrel on the fountain, although the picture isn't clear enough to say for certain.

I would say it's a cat in the fountain. Not a squirrel.

And that's exactly what it is... the elusive and mysterious, Calico Kitty!

Like Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster all we have is one blurry photograph of her. Two days ago she left a very large and very mangled grey rat on my front steps. Apparently this is a bid to get on my good side, or perhaps not. Maybe she's claiming me as her owner... though I thought it was supposed to be the other way around! My neighbor's daughter did some research on the internet and while certain types of Calicos are only male, as SJ had said, ones with a mottled pattern are usually female. So I've named her 'Calamity' after one of my favorite people in American History, Calamity Jane.

I introduce to you 'Calamity', the cat... that lives under my house!

It seems like this is your first time so its important to get some ground facts clear early on. You're not the owner, you're staff. If you're good you're favoured staff (favoured staff sometimes get things like dead birds as gifts and permission to pet the owner - without being clawed to death).

nuh uh... cats adopt people, not the other way around. Whenever someone is in need of a cat, one just shows up in their life somehow. :D

She is gorgeous BTW and I think 'Calamity' suits her. :) I think the rats will certainly agree with me....lol.

I know of at least one rat that won't be causing mischief at my house. :)

She's a very sly cat, slinks around like she owns the courtyard... and guess what, she mixed it up with our resident squirrel and chased it off. I could begin to fancy this cat. :)

    ha ha!
Cats have a way of winning people over, in spite of their best efforts to dislike them. ;)

Cats are one of three reasons why I still visit my parents so often :D

Calamity sounds like a great name for a cat, btw!
