But I always liked "So Boromir was Aragorn's brother? So now Aragorn is next in line for the throne cuz Boromir died, right?" "Riiiiiiight."

My mum , dad and I were watching ROTK and we had just seen Legolas bring down one of the Haradrims oliphaunts when she leaned over to me and whispered:-
" Can he do that cuz he's a fairie??"

That's weird, me and my sister did that too. There was this big long line and we came out and started talking really loud saying things like "Wasn't that awful when Legolas died? And right after he found out Aragorn was his brother too!" Some people looked askance at us, but then we walked away snickering. I'm cruel I know.... :D

We can only pray they meant "Gosh, I hope they do The Hobbit now!"

Although it wouldn't truely be a "Sequel".

Heh. Believe it or not, during heavy production of the second chapter of the LOTR movie trilogy, it just so happens that 9/11 occured.

It was not long afterward that people started scruitnizing PJ(Peter Jackson, Director) about his titling of "The Two Towers". They said it was insensitive to the current world issues. They said that he should change the name of the movie. They said that he shouldn't have come up with a name so insensitive after so recent a tragedy occured.

They started a petition for renaming The Two Towers. You can find evidence of this in the archives of www.darkhorizons.com, a site dedicated to movie news.

There were even people so stupid as to say things like, "Who does this Tolkien guy think he is? Coming up with a title like that for a book in this day is completely inappropriate and in poor taste." Yeah...cuz he wrote it yesterday, right?

Now, correct me if I'm wrong...but wouldn't that constitute as about the n00biest thing that can possibly be said on the subject matter? LOL.

Found a link to a petition against the above mentioned petition. The link is below. However, it seems the original petition, the one designed to change the name of the movie(which is obviously not a problem anymore) can no longer be viewed. I include this link as evidence of its existance.

Some of the best I heared

At the end of RoTK: So, in the end... who became King?

Gondor? Isn't that the place with all the elves and stuff?

Of course all the members of the fellowship survived; after all, they are the heroes!

HeHe, Jer I remember that petition against the naming of the two towers, and I remember reading peoples comments for that petition, and hardly a single one took it seriously.

My mom thought that, When the man who played dumbeldore died, that Ian McKellan would have to be replaced in RotK because: Didn't the man who plays him die? Wasn't he in that movie about the magic school?
    My poor, confused Mum.

I say, "It's all or nothing." Don't try to understand just part of Lord of the Rings. Star Wars and Harry Potter you can sometimes get away with, but "The Lord of the Rings"? It's just too deep.

After I saw FOTR fr the first time. When the movie ended and the lights came up a man sitting in the row behind me said "well that was stupid, they could have at least thrown the ring away". And also at my school, kids said "Lord of the rings was so stupid. It had no ending."

    Yeah, stupid people.

Yeah. My grandmother had the same response. "Well, at least 'Harry Potter' had an ending."

Later she said, "Now, are there three books?"

Some people are just so dumb you can't explain it to them. Like one woman who didn't know how to open her car door because the batteries in the key command went dead.

I overheard one woman in the theater tell the person behind her she was sure that Legolas and Aragorn would end up being related...

Whenever you hear someone say that killing Gandalf in the first movie was a stupid idea, you can't really blame them. How are they supposed to know he comes back?

On another topic, I think Ian McKellan wouldn't be too bad as Dumbledore. If he can pull a Gandalf again...
