That's a loaded question...get what you think you want!

I say Strider's Ranger Sword, but that's just me...

I don't what is available to get. It was recently announced that the majority of the United Cutlery line would be discontinued. :(

My first pick would be Glamdring, but we're sold out of it. The Musuem Glamdring is still available though.

Anduril is the most popular sword.

The Museum Collection Glamdring is a fine piece...though I understand people are having some trouble with the display case, and it being damaged in some way by the time it arrives. Glad I wasn't one of those people! :)

Sting would be a good idea for your first sword-it's a bit small-but is inexpensive and there are lots of them. So unlike other hard to get discontinued swords (Elvin warrior sword, limited Anduril etc) Sting is easy to get and has little markup. Almost every retailer or mall knife shop has one-just make sure it's a licenced one and not a knock-off. Licenced ones have a UC# and a certificate of authenticity.
