got any awesome minecraft creations?
So far a Japanese-style mansion is the only cool one really. Here it is two years ago when we started the server, with a bonus Viking-style farm house. Minecraft Japanese Survival House. There are now quite a few smaller builds everywhere, and my brother is working on a huge Roman villa.
awesome! lots of dedication and teamwork! maybe you could make it all into a village of sorts
It is sort of a village that we're working on improving, but we've moved over to playing OpenTTD for the moment (which is also lots of fun).
I've never heard of OpenTTD what's it like?
It stands for Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe (OpenTTD). It's a free open-source re-write of TTD; a game where you build bus, lorry, train, boat and plane transport systems, taking resources and passengers around. It's rather fun
interesting! got any creations you could share?
Here is quite a messy corner of the game I finished a few months ago, where I connected loads of small towns that then grew enormously. I have quite a large network linking large towns that have merged into each other, and this one was quite fun to fit in to a small space.
impressive! is there a tech progression?
There is the progression of steam -> (diesel) -> electric -> monorail -> maglev, and the other vehicles just get more modern and better. The progression is time-based though and nothing else.
If you like that kind of game though, then Factorio is brilliant It has a tech-tree and is all about automating as much as possible to launch a rocket.
I've just been playing some Horizon: Zero Dawn, Far Cry 5, Dark Souls III and Bloodborne.
I've heard great things about Factorio the let's plays look great too!
Factorio is fantastic fun and if you've any interst in game development or just want to know more their weeky blog on their website is a great thing. Really drives home how even adding really simple changes to a game can actually be WAY more complicated than one thinks!
Also the great thing with Factorio is you go as complex as you want. You can run the whole thing on a really simple design with just grabbers and basic gear; or you can tech up and build a huge complicated monster with hover drones and everything. Basically they give you the tools and you can then use those how you wish to build a factory as complex or as simple as you desire. Which I think makes for a very refreshing approach to gaming whereby most games push you down one pathway and force you to use all the latest and best updates/upgrades within the game.
sounds like my kind of game! I only wish the graphics were more advanced, but I guess you can't have everything
Aye though I honestly think they've got a good point for the graphics; sure they are not super fantastic; but at the same time they've got a very solid style and the resolution has greatly improved (and they are still doing big updates to it). I think once you start playing you'll appreciate them for what they are rather than feel them lacking.
currently playing smite, conquest mode. I have no idea what I'm doing
More Dark Souls III…
trying to play WoW lol. the BfA patch broke some of my drivers...
Actually doing well-ish for once in (the new) Star Wars Battlefront II.
Waiting for No Man's Sky NEXT, although I have to wait until Friday evening to play it…
learning how to use the auction house in WoW
Europa Universalis 4 again, this time as Holland. It's always satisfying when you play a smaller nation and you complete sabotage a larger one through funding rebels at the worst of times .
