I've been following the threads for A Song of Ice and Fire, and it has really perked my curiosity. Problem is, I don't know much about it. Could someone please tell me what it is, and who publishes it. I can't seem to find it in any of the book stores I frequent.

Although A Feast For Crows isn't out yet... as far as I know.

Its a trilogy at the moment, but its going to be a six book series. It's also probably the best series Ive ever read.

I thought it was supposed to be a 5 book series. With the 5th being a Dance of Dragons.

Is the fourth book still coming out in November?

I heard it was gonna be a six book series. And No.5 was called A Dance Of Dragons, but book 6 hadn't been named.

Yeah it is, im actually listening to a radio interview with Martin, and he said six. So there you go. Straight from the horses mouth. Also, if you go to http://www.georgerrmartin.com/ and click Preview, you can read the opening chapter of A Feast For Crows.

That same site, click About, and then interviews. This one goes for about 25 mins I think, and so far they arent talking much about ASOIAF, its just basic crap. He says at the beginning its gonna be a 6 book series though. I cant remember which interview it is though, i think its the one from the year 2000.

It's set for 6 books, could possibly be more. It was originally going to be a trilogy, and eventually it became a series set for 6 books(His S.O. Paris, thinks it's going to be 7). A Feast For Crows wasn't originally going to happen, there was going to be a five year gap from aSoS to ADWD, but he figured out after a year or so that it wasn't going to work out, so he had to trash all that work. Then he had to replan, and thus it has taken a hell of a long time to finish A Feast for Crows. AFFC will span about 5 years, Ran from the Westerosi boards says it might only span 2-3 years.

    *Phew*

Anyway, I'd say that ASoIaF is my favorite series. I put it off for a long time because I read the amazon reviews and they said all the main characters died a lot(Well, way more than other Fantasy, which is a good thing, I think.), that it was hard to follow most the characters(Completely false, most the characters P.O.Vs are a lot of fun to read, I hate Cataly and Theon though. Dany was boring in the first book but has since become one of my favorite POVs) and that it had a lot of gross sexual ****, like Incest and Pedophilia(Even though the latter would be socially accepted during the time period).

Give it a go for yourself, if you don't like 'em, don't read 'em, but I doubt you will.

Thanks everyone. It was a big help. I picked up the first book today, and I plan on reading it as soon as I finish reading the Wheel of Time. At least, the WOT books currently available.
