Lol. I keep telling Liadan "chop chop" just to annoy her. :p

Me too. His POV might be a little boring, but's a good character, who tries to do the right thing. Few and far between in this series.

No, isnstead we have to read about what he wants to do to her, and his jealous mental rants about who he thinks she sleeping with now. *shudder*

Lol. Very true. I'd do just about anything to protect my daughter, but I'd never try to kill another child to save mine. Particulary over something stupid that I got caught at, and knew I shouldn't be doing and would risk my childern's lives. It's called morals, and a conscience. :p And those 2 knew what would happen if they had children together, and what would happen if they got found out. They chose to ignore that for "love" and then kill anyone who threatens to expose them.
And Jamie even says the only reason he felt any regret at all was because Cersei gave him a hard time about it. He felt no regret about almost killing a child, and ruining his life. :(

I can't honestly say the same. I've seen ten and eleven year olds running around with guns. If my child was in immediate mortal danger from something like that, I don't know what I would do. I just don't. There's no handbook of acceptable responses for situations where your children are in mortal danger. I have absolutely no idea.

On writing techniques and character judgement - I'll agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Again, he's a prick for doing it. No question of it. However, under the circumstances - his and Cersei's being caught would have meant death for their children.

He and Cersei are as bad as each other in a lot of respects. Heh, they're twins, go figure.

Let me stick a "innocent" in my previous statement.

I'd do anything I could to save her, within reason. If a kid was holding a gun to her head, ready to shoot her, I'd have no issues doing anything to stop that child. But, would I shove another child, an innocent one, on a chance to save her when she's in danger? IT's never come up, thankfully, but I don't see it, I could never hurt a child like that. And that's what Jamie did.

He and Cersei chose the live that way, knowing that any children they had would likely die if they were found out. None of that was Bran's fault, he was just playing, and happened to catch them being idiots. No kid deserves death for that, and Jamie's the one who did it. He killed to save his kids, they had kids knowing it was bound to come out one day. That's just stupid, and cruel, IMO. :yak:

Twincest. very nice. lol. and it's good to see that there's some other people here who find Jaime's action of pushing Bran out the window to be as heinous as it really is. Thank you.

I think we're all agreed on that score. DEFINITELY.

Oh and Nynaeve, I do agree with you. I was being shall we say, a bit of a devil's advocate there. I know exactly what you mean.

@ Arya: Wow, excellent arguments raised there.

ADWD will be focused in the north and around the Free Cities area. Jaime won't be appearing in ADWD unless Dany invades, which I rather doubt.

And I personally like Jaime. Sure, he's arrogant, but I'm also hoping for a nice redemption story. That does NOT mean that I agree with or excuse his previous actions (mainly, chucking Bran out a window.)

The one thing you guys are leaving out is that Jaime didn't even really love his children. He pushed Bran out of a window for CERSEI, not Joff/Tommen/Myrcella.

That is an excellent point App. Jaime is a heinous rat bastard and should be remembered as such.

Very true. Cersie would do anything to make them happy, but in one point in AFFC, Jamie calls them Roberts children. Jamie does not really even want to claim them as his own, unless it'll get Cersei to marry him.

They never looked on him as their father though. I mean, if you're adopted it doesn't mean you mean any less to your adoptive parents - and it's the opposite in Jaime's case. He's also angry with Cersei because she never let him hold his kids and be a father, and you can't really blame him for that. Yes, it would be nice if he cared about them, but he never really had an incentive to.
