in asos, near the end of one of the Jaime chapters, Brienne finds out that Sansa Stark has been wed to Tyrion lannister, Brienne says "The Imp? But... he swore, before the whole court, in sight of gods and men..." what is she referring to?

    here's the full quote:

    Hi slinky,

Was it because Tyrion had sworn to let Sansa Stark go if Jaime (kinslayer) was released and although Jaime did get away Tyrion ended up marrying Sansa?

    Just a guess..

i actually dont think catelyn had any communication with tyrion prior to sending them jaime. i thought she was just hoping that they would do the right thing and let the girls go when they got jaime. do you think its possible she's just referring to wedding vows? you usually swear those before gods and men. she does say it a little wierdly tho, i guess she's just shocked at the news.
