I think it will be Royal blue with a white Gondorian tree design.

My question isn't what color the box will be, but what little statues are going to be in the collectors box set. ;)

It's funny, I was just thinking about this...

We now know its going to be blue, thanks to Anduril.
I think its a good choice. Dark, earthy colours.

I am guessing a stutue of Aragorn will be in the collecter's edition.

After all, it IS the return of the king.

Oh and I thought it was just me! Its been bugging me for ages. I would like it to be one of the grey ships, but I think it may be Minas Tirith, the reason being its conspicuous absence from the environmental models relwased so far. Anyone have any other ideas?

i think instead of a statue, it should come with a free Anduril sword. :)

    Hey, I can dream, right?

I dunno... the other two statues were not directly affiliated with the title of the film.

How about a big-ass Ring? Of a life size model of Barad-Dur, or Minas Tirith?

Minas Tirith and Barad-Dur stautes(not life size) are probably a safe bet. One will most likely be released with the DVD's and the other one you'll need a coupon for, just like the Gollum and Smeagul statues.

Oh come on you all, the box IS going to be blue, cuz its blue on my RotK $5 rebate coupon that came with my theatrical version of RotK, and I do believe that the bookends will either be Bag-End and Mount Doom, a pair of Black Gates, or Minas Tirith and Barad-Dur (can't remember which one was the real deal and which two were just rumors, hehe). Although, the Argonath and the Black Gate would be a cool combo, or even Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul.

Nonetheless, the box will be a dark blue, like the blue in the little Windows Icon on the start menu.

Curufeanor is right as to the colour. The theatrical edition box for FotR is green and the extended edition matches it. The same goes for TTT and will probably be the same for RotK.

If take alook at those toy action figures, the colors of the boxes are Fellowship, Two Towers, and Return of the King.

Why are we still speculating what colour the box is going to be now? I've posted links to pictures of the boxes here, and even if you haven't seen it, it's going to be the same colour as the boxes that UC's items and other related merchandize come in, which is blue.

And for your convenience. here're the pictures of the boxes.

And for your further convenience, here's the photo of all the different versions the EE DVD will come in in the photo attached, even though the giftbox version is still under wraps, so it doesn't show what'll come with it.

I don't necessarily think this is what will come with the special edition box, but I think this would be nice.

Oh it absolutely won't be the Shards. If it were to come it'd have come with FOTR, not ROTK. The Broken Sword wouldn't come with the chapter of the story that is all about the return of the king, symbolized in part in the movie by the reforging of the sword. If it is to be the Sword, it'd be Andúril, the Sword Reforged anew, not Shards of Narsil, the Broken Sword.

That's why I don't think that's what it will come with.
