Typing ... aaaand I'm done .
Bout to get ready for bed
doing a bit of questing in WoW and then going to bed
Sitting in the heat
remembering what it's like to post on here
I am sitting with my dads old cat as my lazy bumb's sleep else where, posting on the forum I have not been on in years, watching reruns of Andy Griffith on Netflix and telling myself my time would be better spent reading my book that is currently out of reach and to reach it means disturbing the elderly cat.
Trying to find volunteers who will read through my hypnosis script and an answer some feedback questions
What a missed opportunity to portray Freddie as he really was... which is far more interesting than what I saw in that uninspired movie.
Sparrowwwwww, how are you, most mysterious man of tff?
I liked Bohemian Rhapsody! It was good fun. I'm happy they didn't make an aids movie cause I ws afraid it would be all whiny and negative. I don't know enough about Freddie Mercury to know if the portrayal was accurate or not. What was Wrong with it? A bit annoyed with how he kept his mouth. He did some weird expressions with his mouth. Did Freddy D that?
Freddie was always self conscious about his facial expressions, he had a large pallet which some people think helped him achieve the extraordinary range of notes he could hit - how true that is I don't know, he was however an amazing vocalist and in my opinion the best front man there has ever been.
As for the film there were a lot of inaccuracies in the way he and the band as a whole were portrayed - one notable example is in the film the other members where upsets/angry when he did his solo album, when in fact this was not the case as both Brian May and Roger Taylor both had their own solo projects. There are others too.
Anyway currently I am currently winding down after a stressful day.
But he ended up not doing a solo album, no? That didn't happen in the film at least?
Well, I was listening to the song when I wrote it down here, though I did see the film on my flight back (after seeing it in cinema and Itunes a few times lol). It's a fine film, but yeah. I didn't learn much from him and some of the changed to introduce Freddy faster to the band for example. For example (no real spoiler) in the film the lead singer leaves the band called 'Smile' and Freddy introduces himself, while in reality the lead singer introduces Freddy as his replacement.
I don't think it's a secret either that Freddy died of aids, however in reality he found out he had HIV after the Live Aid, while in the film, to add drama, he discovers it before the Live aid. Rami Malek did a pretty good job. Freddy was physical taller and stronger than Malek, however he's still a good actor and gave a good performance. I know they reduces the size of his teeth, cause at first they went with the actual size of Freddy's teeth,
Later they became smaller and smaller, however I still thought they were too big. Thing is Freddy had pretty large square jaws, so his teeth weren't so big in comparison. The size of his chin also made them look smaller: Rami Malek does have a square jaw, however too small in comparison. Seems they didn't take that into account. I also felt I just didn't learn much from the film about Freddy. They were other misleading scenes that shed Freddy's character more in bad light (not that bad) and I just found that unnecessary and hypocritical.
He did release a solo album called 'Mr. Bad Guy'.
I'm doing super good, thanks!
Hope you're doing well too. Good to see you around this old haunt.
And yeah, Freddie did do that weird expression with his mouth... a lot. He had a pronounced overbite and I think it was just a habit of his to try and make it less noticeable. Freddie Mercury had considerable appetites, for sex, drugs, and outrageously decadent behavior. Unfortunately the film glossed over all that. In the end, he was an amazingly gifted musician with a freak-of-nature singing voice and a stage presence that no lead singer will ever match. Beyond that, he wasn't horribly interesting.
I'm chilling out, until I get ready to go to the opening of a new rock club, where hopefully they will play Queen
How do you know when he discovered it? He could have kept it between friends and family first...
Ahaaa yes, that's exactly it. Good acting! The real Freddie is definitely more goodlooking than the actor but that's a detail.
I'm pretty good, thanks for asking
Just a documentary.
