I thought the first one was pretty good (a 7 or an 8 depending on the mood I'm in). I loved the humor and the world that was created. I'd have to agree though that the Goblet of Fire has been my favorite so far.

Although I actually cried when Sirius died, I couldn't help but laugh when Harry blew up at Dumbledore and started throwing things around his office :D Am I just strange? Lol. It was hilarious.

I thought Sirius was great.. I thought it was great to see Harry's more darker side.. (be carefull he doesn't cross over to the Dark Side... just kidding..) But I don't think it was fair to Harry! And Malfoy's always breathing down Harry's back.. when will Harry punch Malfoy! I know violence isn't good, but sometimes I could just punch Draco and his father!

I'm not a big fan of Sirius. Just wait for the next 2 books and you may see that he could come back as a ghost.

as much as i thought sirius was a great character and would of looked forward to reading more about him in future books, i would be really disappointed with the story if he was brought back some how. it would ruin the depth of emotions now being shown in harry and everyone in the group. storylines like these really make me feel the entire story has grown up with each continuing book ;)

I thought his death was a total waste. It didn't prove a point, and he didn't have a reason to go. It wasn't like he was fighting evil or showing the cruelty of Voldemort (As Cedric (right?) died in the 4th); he just was PUSHED OUT.

Seems like she needed somebody to bite it to make it interesting...

i think rowling is making us all fell like hes dead and goin to bring him back a some crucial moment, to "save the day" if you know what i mean, just like in all the good vs evil movies etc.

Also I have to say Sirius is definitely of my fave characters throughout Harry Potter. Finding out he didn't kill Harrys parents was such a significant moment for me. I just went "WOW he didn't do it"

I loved Sirius Black, he was my favorite character besides Harry.
He was the only person that cared about Harry, he really loved him as if he were his son... he was more father for Harry than James himself, and not because James would wanted that, but that's the the way that happened. He gave EVERYTHING to see her boy happy, he was without a doubt, the best adult character in the books, he was fun, handsome, intelligent, protective, a very clever person, full of life. ... the best marauder even with all his faults and qualities... and he's only been in three books... It's too early to write him out!!! He shouldn't have died!!! And also, Bellatrix didn't use Avada kedavre on him, because it wasn't a green light, right?, it was red... I mean, she probably only used a Stupefy or something. He's gonna come back, later, i know it! I know it!! *paranoid*
Sorry, I'm still in denial... *wipes a tear*

I read in one of JKR's interviews that she hated to do it and kill Sirius, but that it had to be done. I'm almost positive that she also said that he is dead and NOT coming back to life. :(I can try to find it and post it here if I do. Now him as a ghost, that may be possible!

^^agreed. judging from the reactions and feelings Rowling expressed, the death is final.

Sirius is my favorite Harry Potter character as well, and I was traumatized when he died, but we have two more books ahead of us, and the purpose of this death may be explained more later. She said "it had to be done" which makes me think that Rowling had some sort of motive behind the death that we will see later. I will certainly miss him though!
