Dark Eldar are basically Eldar with a bit of chaos thrown in lol :p

I could ape a Dark Eldar army anyday. You only get two DE type players. Rubbish and really awesome. It's very rare to come across a good DE player, and when you do...you get ****ed up hard >_<

Too bad a rocket launcher can take them out :S

I was once playing this Iron Warriors chap, and in the first turn my rocket launcher went straight into it and blew it up. I think that won me the match, since I did not have much in the way of heavy firepower.

I've heard stories of 1 Tau Hammerhead with ordenance shells finishing off an entire 400-700 point Tyrannid Army. Tau are perfect Counter-Nids, except for the fact that there is alot of tau strength in their pinning weapons that dont effect nids, but theres alot of nid strength in charging, which is negated by photon grenades.

Yep, the Tau have a really stupid long shooting phase where everything shoots literally the whole board, and lots of it is high strength weapons. No to mention they can jump into random space in any direction during the assualt phase <_<

only crisis and stealths can jump anywhere in assault, but its great for jump-shoot-hide tactics.

and yeah hammerhead range is 72 i think, I doubt theres many boards big enough to hide from that, and if you've got smart missiles on there (non LoS) then hiding isnt much of an option at close range.

But thats the point of the tau, shoot your face off before we have to see your ugly mug or whatever pointy things or clubs youre wielding.

plus they look way cooler than anyone else.

Space marines are alreight, but the helmets ruin the aesthetic. Terminators arent bad though.

If you want classic scifi chic, you go Tau, you want an arse-load of skulls, go SM

Tau look more like Sci-fi fanatics got hold of some stocks from sci-fi movies and put together a suit :S

Sorry, but the Tau lose the in the coolness division. There are just too many instances where the other races look cooler (cept maybe Nids, cos they just look scary lol).

And SMs look like medieval armour ripoffs with shoulder fetishes, youre point being?

Tau are cool because of the classic scifi chic, but at the end of the day its still a matter of opinion.

And you'll find the majority of the opinion weighs in the favour of the SM.

Plus, the SM armour is quite different looking to medievil armour even though basic shape is similar. The shoulder pads are for covering all the stuff within the armour to help them move. Plus it's only something to make them unique, aswell as helps them proudly display their chapter and company badge.

No they just get many users who play them, not necessarily find them cool. Plus when I made that statement I was thinking of good regular players in mind, who know a fair bit about WH40k.

SM are the flagship warhammer race, hence most people who impulsively go into the hobby are ones who see space marines and think they look cool. other races like tau dont have the exposure to match grabbing random interest like that. hence the unrepresentative majority.
