Thanks for the updated info Kit. I'm happy to hear that Eowyn's sword is on the list, I'm definately getting that one, and my husband really wants Eomer's Guthwine, so hopefully that will be on the definite list sometime soon.

thanks for the pic Kit, they look awsome. Would you give some info as to the difficulties with Gud? To make such a high quality product there have to be some obsticles that need to be bypassed. It's the back story that makes one appreciate the product so much. Thanks.

He said that only a few shipped out, and that he inspected some of those himself. Then he said that it would take some time for the production to catch up. That made me think that the production value of the first pieces was not going to be as good as future ones. At least that is what it sounded like he was insinuating. Sort of like how the first Ranger scabbards didn't fit well, but future ones are supposed to be great.

Not so NatDogg, he did say he inspected the first ones himself but he didn't say anything about why or what he was looking for. It could have been he found nothing at all wron with them at all. Be carful about readning something into a post that is not there. Let's not try to second guess him on this please. We should be gettoing our shippment soon and then we will see. :^)

That is an awsome set seeing the three together like that. I thought I didn't like them, they were so different from everything I liked in a sword. But this ... is starting to get me hooked on them as well, stop it! Stop it now or I'll go bankrupt! :D

They are like anglo saxon swords, or something that the vikings would have used. (love the vikings) and these swords are a bit of Rohan and Vikings. My goal is to display all 3 on my wall. Then to make a Rohan banner and maybe if a helm from Rohan comes out... that would be nice =) :)

My Kingdom for a Horse! Well, it'll be a shetland pony then I guess...

Yes, these are more Viking style. I don't like real Viking swords though. I find them so ... primitive. Something these beautiful swords are not. That's what I like about the entire LotR range of swords. They are fantasy, yes. But they could be real and give you the feeling of being real with their own styles and still remain beautiful.

That's a nice vision by the way Grallen. That would be great.

The helm is Theoden's, and it is an actual movie prop.

Strider's Elven knife looked great. No real problems there other than the typical one of ordering a certain color of stableized wood and getting another color from the supplier. The wood will vary from dark brown to reddish brown, sort of like Sting. Overall I thought the knife looked beautiful. I can't wait to get one.

The difficulties I was referring to are with the Legolas knives. Basically the entire fist load of American oak grips were not cut to fit the hand guard and pommel correctly so that means the entire run of grips must be re-made. The pommel is very tricky shape to fit to. Even the new grips won't fit exactly perfect, to my eyes anyway, but they didn't on the prop either.

I know the factory is culling through the grips to assemble any that do fit so some can ship, but that will be only a few hundred pieces. It will be many months before all of the back orders are filled. This is the most popular LOTR product right now, so naturally the New Product Curse has delayed it.

Not much news on the staffs. I know they are in production but I don't expect to see them shipping out for a few months.

Hmmm... bad luck on the staffs there. Perhaps I should wait on them and get something else...

No! I will remain faithful and patient! The staff of the White Rider shall be mine!

EDIT: But if they're just ramping up production, Swordsman should be able to start taking preorders... right?

I'd like to know when I can expect a strider's knife, 'cause that and Boromir's sword (Functional would be GREAT.) are the ones I'm really looking forward to. Those and the other two Nasgul weapons.

I'm definitely getting Herugrim, I love that sword. I might get Boromir's (but I am getting a custom made one). Of course I look forward to any releases.
