Egwene's had plenty of Dreams about Mat, many have been explained and of the rest most people concentrate on the 'losing an eye' ones. I've been wondering about this one though:

Mat, weighing two Aes Sedai on a huge set of balance scales, and on his decision depended....She could not say what; something vast; the world, perhaps.

Who do you think they are?

    Literal:

    Egwene and Elaida?

    Teslyn and Edesina?

Moiraine and someone else, Cadsuane? Verin? Siuan?

    Liandrin and Teslyn or Edesina?

    Figurative:

    The Rebels and Tower AS?

    The Black & White Towers?

    Two Embassies?

    Any thoughts?

    Hmm... Interesting subject.

My thought is it's figurative. So I'd go with The Rebels and The Tower. (which would also equate to Egwene/Elaida). If he could amass some men to follow him, his luck could change the course of the battle depending on which side he fought.

But why would he be choosing between them? It's pretty obvious he'd go with Egwene, wouldn't even be a decision.

maybe he isnt choosing between them, maybe he is choosing to help egwene or something and on his decision depends her success, and the fate of the Aes Sedai.

But dont ask me, I'm only starting Crown of Swords, for all i know this has all happened already.

I have no clue lol. I would say the Black and White Towers, but all of them seem pretty likely.

Also, could it involve the Seanchan in anyway?

Do you suppose it has anything to do with Mat's visions inside the Ter'Angreal?

Perhaps the Aes Sedai in the viewing means Egwene and Elaida, perhaps not. Maybe it has something to do with damane (ie. Seanchan channelers) or perhaps even the Kin. I'd go with something to do with the Seanchan as Mat is pretty tied up with them at the moment.

Meh I think amybe between Aes Sedai and Seanchan channelers....but there's also a big deal between Elaida and Egwene....so its proabbaly between those two aswell....but he has a decision to make...thereofre its gonna be tight, and if u take Elaida and Egwene, he's going to go Egwene so no decision there. This is where I think it is between Aes Sedai and Seanchan...becasue he's got Egwene's Aes Sedai on one side, but there's also Tuon being a Seanchan..so I dunno...what you think?

But it's specifically Aes Sedai, not women who can channel. It could be choosing between two Aes Sedai he has with him, say one's Black and the other's not and he has to trust one of them, or choosing which AS damane he gets to rescue.

But that could just be Min's interpretating, maybe she saw two women who can channel, (interesting point is that Tuon can channel since she trains damane) and just assumed they were Aes Sedai.

I think this Viewing came after she'd spent time in the Tower, she'd have commented that they looked strange somehoe because of the lack of the ageless face.

Dont damane have agelessness? after a while they should, seeing as how theyre forced to use the power so much, probably more than Aes Sedai.

Isn't the agelessness Oath related though? Can't remember. I really need to find the time to re-read the series, I think I would pick up on alot more the second time through.

hey dont take my opinion to far, i dont know anything about an agelessness oath, either its after CoS or I'm just a forgetful idiot.

    Both are likely options

They Slow, as all channellers do but Aes Sedai develop the ageless face because of the Three Oaths, sworn upon the Binder from the AoL, used to punish criminals. If they could not reform within 5 years or so then they were given an outward sign of their guilt to add to their shame.

I think maybe Mat's luck twisted the balance and he saved both women on the scales.

It seems the individual women may not matter, but the sides they represent. And he's making a choice, he can't say both.

Like tossing a coin a set of scales is all or nothing, no matter how lucky you are you'll get heads or tails, not both. The most you could hope for is edge and then nobody wins.
