She starts off pretty slowly.. just give it some time. I loaned my book out (again) or else I could tell you where it picks up. I haven't been able to read anything but Harry Potter books for the last 6 years... in fact, I HATED reading until I picked up Twilight. Now I can finally say that reading is one of my hobbies again.

Honestly though, I tried to read it this summer and I couldn't... but I saw the movie and then I just HAD to read it. There was no choice. Now I am super addicted. Just stick with it... you won't regret it!

I tried but the writing is soooo bad I couldn't. Over use of the same few adjectives, bad grammar etc.

Yes, I agree with you on that. I didn't like the way it was written much, I just liked the story enough to read it anyway. ^^

I didn't think the writing was that bad. It wasn't great in Twilight but it got better as she went along. I also don't believe that a good story needs perfect writing to back it up. A story teller is a story teller. Stephenie Meyer is definitely a story teller... and this story needed to be told.

Y'all are probably going to hate me because I haven't actually read any of the books yet, but I did see the movie, and kind of got sucked in. My good friend was really into Twilight, and I hadn't heard of it until July, then wondered what all the hubbub was about, but didn't pick up the book. For a little while I kind of ... was opposed to it for some reason I really don't know. I guess I felt a vampire-human love story was so passe. Heh. Anyway, after the movie, I just got sucked it. I'm now looking for a cheap copy of Twilight so I can actually read it and have a reason to like it aside from the movie because I feel like such a dope just liking it for the movie. (It has a terrific score, by the way. The music is tremendous!)

I only read the books because the movie got me so intrigued. I tried reading it once this summer and couldn't do it. Now I can't imagine not having read the books.

Try Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's Saint-Germain if you want good vampire tales. Start at the beginning in published order.

I dunno, I'm pretty keen on the way Stephenie Meyer has set up her vampire world... I doubt I could get into anything else

Oh, sorry! But isn't it obvious how it is going to end anyway? I couldn't imagine any other way :p.

Haha, well, it wasn't the main reason at all, I just thought it was funny that you said it, as I did break up the day after I finished the last book.

The movie is not the same as the book. It was really good, but they tell the story differently. I believe the book was way better, but the movie is still good.

I saw the movie yesterday. I downloaded from the internet cause it will come here on January and I couldnt wait!
Although the quality really sucked, I liked it very much!
But I still cant decide if I liked Robert Pattinson for the role of Edward..
I now started reading the second book and Im trying to hold myself from reading it at once cause I want it to last longer *sigh*

I will send out the 3rd book as soon as I find out how to mail a package and how to mail a package to Greece. Hopefully I will send it Monday or Tuesday.

Oh, and I was also a little unsure about Robert Pattinson as Edward. I asked my friend what was off about him and she said "He's not a vampire"... good point. lol

Thats a very good point. I cant think of an actor that could resemble to the Edward from the book. Such perfection just doesnt exist :D

Sorry, but I disagree with this. Since he is the newest vampire, I thought he pulled off the "fighting the killer instinct" look really well! Sure he did look like a stunned mullet, but only because he was stopping himself going to town all the time! And if I recall correctly, he didn't have a huge part in the book either.

I'm a big fan of the books and the movie. I've only read Twilight, but I'm halfway through New Moon and I only started reading the saga last Thursday! The only problem I have with Edward and Bella's story is that she seems to be in love with him for all his abilities, ie. his speed, strength, etc. But other than that I'm really enjoying reading these books!
