I am a father of two and my son is about 2 1/2, I wanted to get him some action figures and so I bought a few Toy Biz LoTR figures; the trouble is now I do not want to open them! These things are great! So I bought my son a Spiderman action figure and kept the others for myself (I mean him of course when he grows up!).

I thought I would begin this thread as a place to discuss your Toy Biz collections, feel free to discuss what they are worth, the more rare figures, and the best way to find some of the more difficult to obtain items.

    So far I have:
    Aragorn Elessar
    Frodo with Light-Up Sting
    Treebeard
    Morgul Lord
    Bilbo 111 Birthday
    Eomer
    Helm's Deep Aragorn
    Strider

I am really looking for a Gandalf and a Saruman - anyone have any information about how to find these?

Scratch that - I have just added:

    Prologue Elrond
Gandalf the Grey (light up staff)
    Theoden in armor
    Prologue Elven Warrior

BTW - some true collectors, are any of these rare?

    Where did you get these??

THe prologue elf warrior is rare, the prologue elrond is rare. Those are really rare ones, hardly ever see them in shops anymore! You are lucky! Here are some pictures of my collection:

Looking Good!!!!!!! I found both of the figures you are asking about at my local Target. I went on eBay and discovered how rare they truly are - the Elven Warrior was selling for $20, way to go me!

I am really looking for a Saruman and a Gandalf the White, wish me luck!

$22.99 for a Faramir?! Boy, I cashed in on that one, I found it at TRU for $5.99 - and last night picked up the King of the Dead for $5.88 (at Wal Mart).

I suppose at the end of the day, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them - but when I saw that they were selling the Elven Warrior (Prologue) for $35, I was quite happy!

Perhaps I am the only one actively collecting these on this site?!!! But I did acquire Gamling, Boromir (Captain of Gondor) and Isengard Orc today!

Many people on the net collect these figures. Me, not being one of them.

what makes them so appealing? Are they well made? good price?

    Update:

Got Elrond of Rivendell; Elendil; Gate of Mordor set!

To answer you Jessehk, I am collecting these in hopes of one day passing them down to my son - maybe to buy a car with (if they appreciate in value like the Star Wars characters). Until then they are for our media room at home and make for a fun enviornment to watch the LoTR films in. It doesn't hurt that they only cost around $6 either!

I like them because they are cheap, and dont take up much space. They are a challenge to find the rare ones. BTW LOTR fan, youve got a PM from me.
