I assume everybody knows the story. If not, check out the 1973 movie starring the unbeatable Gene Wilder and wonder how Burton and Depp thought they could top that. Alternately, read the book and its sequel and wonder why they didnt make the movie about the second book.

    Who's In It:

Johnny Depp (Willy Wonka); Freddie Highmore (Charlie Bucketin); David Kelly; AnnaSophia Robb (Violet Beauregarde); Philip Wiegratz; (Augustus Gloop); Jordan Fry (Mike Teevee); Julia Winter (Veruca Salt).

the sun has a very grainy picture of Depp in the costume.

Traditional depp look. I dont like the glasses on wonka. Anyways, I know this movie will be alot diffrent from the first, with new ideas. I think Gene Wilder was made for wonka though, but i guess will see what they have in mind...

This looks weird, but, I'll probably enjoy it. My choir class in high school just had our float for homecoming based on the original version of the film, and I was blessed with having the Wonka outfit on. Most people got really scared because my hair looked just like Wilder's at the time, and I looked a lot like him... Even if my teacher was dumb enough to get a Mad Hatter outfit instead of a purple jacket... It was still spiffy, though.

I don't think Depp will do half the job Wilder did, and he'd better know it!

I cant wait to see this film, it will be more like the original book, and I know that the family of Dahl are happy that Burton is working on this film, cause he does have the right style that the books have, if you look at the illustrations of the books, they are very similar to Burton's style.

It's going to be a great film, much darker than the first film and more like the book. And concerning Depp not doing half the job that Wilder did, you can never beat the original, but he will invent his own style for him.

I think this is going to be a good one. And since I'm a girl, of course I'm glad Johnny Depp is in it. Also, Tim Burton is one of my favorite film makers, he always has a wonderful/interesting view on things that he shows in his films.
