Well, I'm 500 pages or so into this one now. Very good I think. I got a bit bored with Rands visions while inside the Ter Angreal thing.

Right now I'm reading about Perrins return home. I forget the name of the chapter, but he just met up with Tam. So far I'm liking this part and all it's potential paths.

I found the Elayne/Nynaeve Tarabon bit rather hard to get through until the climax of that plot. Rand's visions were confusing at first, I wasn't half sure what was going on, and I think half tired from studying finals, so I reread it. Made sense the second time through, although I agree, it is a long chapter.

I've not gotten to the Tarabon thing yet, we'll see. I think that for the most part I understood Rands visions, I just couldn't get too involved in them since they jumped around alot (I'm sure that was RJ's point). I found myself wishing we could just get on with it already. sigh

Actually I really liked the part about Rands Visions in the Ter Angrael, especially since it goes right back to the breaking etc. The Emonds field/Perrin thread get's REALLY exciting. That's all i'll say! (although i'm not sure if that's in this book or the fires of heaven)

I'm pretty sure its in this book. Some major spoilers that happen with that plot, so I won't mention anything, but his character develops alot.

Also a bit more of the forsaken are brought into this book, which I am sure Turin has already noticed with Lanfear etc.

Yah, that took me by surprise. But they make a nice new character development of Leane from here on :)

I saw that coming. Siuan always seemed very concerned about that happening. Kept talking about the reasons two amirylins had been stilled. Didn't expect it to happen in the third book though. :(

I don't think she is done yet, or Logain.

Min's vision showed Logain in glory, whatever that leads to.

Well, her visions always turn out true. So I guess its a guarentee we will see something big out of him in the books to follow.

OK, here's a thought. When Rand proclaimed himself the Dragon Reborn the false Dragons (Mazrim Taim, etc.) were defeated. According to Moiraine, once the true Dragon has proclaimed himself the pattern has no room for false Dragons. With that in mind I think it's a bit odd to find Couldin (sp?) claiming to be "He who comes with the Dawn" IE The Dragon. Shouldn't the pattern weave him out as well?

Can Couldin channel? I'm still a little unsure of that.

Couldin couldn't channel. As the Aiel said the dragon is not "He who comes with the Dawn" it just miraculously happened to be Rand. So that may explain it. Jordan never really discussed it.

I figured "he who comes with the dawn" is the Aiel's prophecy for the dragon reborn. So, since he never actually called himself "the dragon reborn", I guess that part when the other two were captured didn't really apply to him. I'm sure the pattern will weave out Couldin when it's time. lol

I think you're right. Hence the people of the Dragon thing. I doun't think that Couldin channeling has anything to do with it. One of the false dragons who fell when Rand proclaimed himself was not able to channel either.

Oh well, guess we'll find out soon enough.
