This series is the best one I have ever read! It is really good and matches the detail and excitement as Lord of the Rings.

I have to say that of the three core books to the series I found Magician to be the best one, by far. That is not to say the others were poor, but to me they lost the epic battle ideas and settled for a more party based adventure - still it is rare to get both in the same series.

also, fans should know this but if you ever read the blurb to "A Darkness as Sethalon", then you can have a good laugh at the guy who did not read the book!

Yes, it is a good series, but I reckon the SerpentWar Saga is his best yet.

I liked the riftwar books, but they were pretty anticlimactic after the first two. Except for the Magician books, I agree that the Serpent war Saga was better.

Strange, I can't seem to get into serpent war, only read about 3/4 or less throuh Shadow of a Dark Queen - it just won't hook me at the moment, though hearing the compliments to the series, I will try again and see if the next book gets better.

Great series. Though a word of caution, avoid one of the support/follow-up books named Krondor the Betrayal. It is definitely not up to Feist's normal standards. It is boring and repetitive. I was in fact quite shocked and have after two months still not finished it.

Personally I love the add on series: The Empire. The place and the people are just painted so beautifully.

Thats because they were based on an already crated game so he was somewhat limited by plot and theme ETC

Empire series is fantastic, a little different to the other thos, but im a big fan of all of them.
The newer ones are a little more simplistic than the rift war, serpentwar, empire series but its what got me started on feist!

Might have to read my serpent war saga again :p
