Who out there has seen this one? I thought it was great, for being a kid's movie. It's my favorite of the three cartoon movies. The songs are good too. :D

Got it d/l on my puter. I think I got it off of Kazaa.

Great cartoon. Though they didn't work to hard on making the elves fair. Interesting to watch, and if I was still a little kid I would probably love it. It overall stayed pretty true to the book.

I have it on DVD. I first saw it like once when I was 8. I got the Hobbit and LotR books at that time, but as you can tell, it was impossible for me to read tehm at that time. They gathered dust till I heard they were making an LotR movie, then I was like, "I have those!" Well, that's my story.

Yup. It seems good for little kids, who aren't old enough to read The Hobbit yet.

If there is a real movie made of The Hobbit, I hope it will be nothing like that version.

Isn't there a song on that of Bilbos adventures throughout the movie in it? If that is the one I have heard, its pretty funny

There's "The Greatest Adventure" that plays during the opening credits.
Another one you may be thinking of is "Frodo of the Nine Fingers" from the animated RotK.

The Hobbit cartoon actually has some good tunes in it:

*Tra-la-la-lally, here down in the valley...*

My favorite was "Where there's a whip, there's a way", on Orc marching song from the ROTK. Although many of the songs are a bit silly, it is the one part of the books that really is missing from the current films. The books were filled with song.

    Were these Ralph Bakshi films?

The animation in general was a bit odd, but you're right, the orcs looked like crap - with arms and legs.

I defenatly think this is my fav. of all the cartoons. I always liked the Hobbit book, so I guess it only seems fair that I like the cartoon too.

The Hobbit movie is how I got attracted to Tolkien! I saw the movie first when I was...oh I don't know...probably too young to remember. 3 or 4 maybe.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but do you realize that Orson Bean played the voice of Bilbo?? Orson Bean is the same guy that plays the shop keeper/store owner in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

I remember getting that movie from one of my strange aunts... It didnt appeal to me, so we sold it at the yard sale. The next year, I get it again... from the same Aunt. So i decided to keep it so that I wouldnt get it again. In grade 5 our teacher read us the hobbit... and I remember that movie. I watched it... and put a picture in my head of all the characters... i love my childhood.

I first saw that movie when I was like six on cartoon network! Then after I has scene LOTR (modern day version) the memories flooded back, unfortunately they were few. All's I remember was this guy who could turn invisible and had a glowy sword saved all these guys with long beards from spiders, than they got thrown in barrels and picked up by guys on a dock.

But after finally reading the hobbit. I downloaded the movie and watched it, wow it was crap, the goblins were fat frog-like creatures, and where in the heck did they get the idea to make wood-elves blue?
