OK, so here is a completely random question for spam....

How do you think it is best to make popcorn?

I don't like the pre-packaged microwave stuff or the air-popper-machines much. I much prefer to buy the basic popcorn kernels and pop them in a pot on the stove. That way I can flavour them any way that I want. Besides, they seem to taste better when made that way though I'm not really sure why.

I've only ever used the microwave stuff, because this is something I can't possibly mess up. I know some people make popcorn in their frying pans, but I know my kitchen would explode if I tried that.

I agree. Often the Old School ways are best.

To be fair, there is a fine line between popping the kernels and setting them on fire. Darn it but those things need to be hot to explode.

I will have to try the olive oil thing :)

When the occasion rises and I feel like an evening picking the kernels out of my teeth, I tend to just microwave them. It all tastes the same to me.
