Cyril has poked me in this direction and (rather demanded) I join up. I'm all for it. It'll be a good excuse to get me writing again. And in these economic times, I could stand to make some spare cash of writing. Maybe this'll spark the stirrings of a novel again.

One way or the other, I guess this means I'm in as well! :D

I think I'd like to get involved, I do enjoy writing although I only do it for myself.

So should we just get started then? Or would we like to start on a common theme of some sort? 'Cuz I feel like I should really get my butt going or I'm gonna lose the gumption. And not even Cyril can make me write when I don' feel like it. *laughs* And he can make me do just about anything.

I'm currently waiting for details on the inn from Foin. Until then I'm working on my own projects.

    Announcements:

1.From what I know the love story has been taken by Blackness
2.Anonymous I'm sorry but you can't take part in the project.

Suggestion: The town where the Inn will be,could be named "Ether's Crossing"
or "Ether's Crossroad" or something like that,in order to show that the specific town and therefore Inn,are set on a relatively busy road when in a meeting point of north and south and a traveller's resting place.
So what do you say about the name of the town?

Now concerning the Dragon's Fire Inn:

It's owner,a 50 year-old man named Bert.Clever, able to run the Inn,he knows how to deal with all kinds of customers with subtle diplomacy and experience.

There is the waitress/maid called Lisa Silvermoon, she's a kind and cute girl. She has blonde hair and green eyes.

The "bouncer" of the Inn,a person who tries to keep order inside its doors and take the trouble outside,he's name is Duncan.Usually wears blue clothes or along with brown cape or leather clothes and pants. He carries a longsword.

Jo the Cooker is the person responsible for preparing some of the delicacies and special plates in the kitchen along with Ordan Thorstein a dwarf who had left his dwarven home in the mountains long ago and after wandering in many places he decided to settle down and work as a cook(and occasional "peacekeeper" when Duncan's not enough to keep order in the inn).

More info coming soon....give me your suggestions guys :)

    Ether's Crossing works for me.

I'd assume since the inn is a larger one it'll be sitting a good ways outside the city? Maybe as a rest point a couple of days outside the city itself? I think that would probably be better than putting it in the city itself, otherwise it wouldn't be nearly as important a place as if we put it outside.

No no it's in a town,a small town. And in that town lies the inn as well.

Now I'm having second doubts about the "ether's" name....hmmm....

    M'kay.

So we're talking a small town of about 150 people or so with the inn as the main "tourist attraction?" Was the town established first or did it spring up around the inn as guests became permanent residents? Is the population bigger or smaller than what I'm estimating?

This is important to establish, simply because I'm close to introducing the inn in the first story I'm writing.

Additionally, I hope people don't mind, but I've taken a few liberties with magic. By no means does the way I have it written need to be the way it always is, but I don't think it would be a bad idea to have a few, "distinguished" wizards around.

If you're having second thoughts, why not model the town's name after the inn? Call it Dragon's Roost or Dragon's Scales. Those would fit, either for springing up around the inn as well as having the inn built later and become so insanely popular that the rest of the residents decided to cash in on it.

No no the town's name has to be different.I was actually wondering if the word "Ether" would be proper as it reminds us of something ethereal, something different and i want the setting for the inn to be a "earthly" as possible...with human medieval structure, not much population like you mentioned.Something like Beregost from Baldur's Gate for example or another town.

The city wouldn't be built around the inn,but the inn inside the city.I'd love it if we don't give so much detail to the inn and town,I like giving readers the freedom to imagine their own "how,when,why,perhaps"....if you know what I mean. :)

    Gotcha.

I'll just hack away then. :)

Edit: Then again, concerning the timeframe my story takes place in, the modern details, don't really matter that much. Much changes in 350 years.
