How about these pics? Here's the link:
    http://podgornydesign.com/current.html

Apparently, the guard is carved wood covered in leather, so it is not a functional sword. I don't know why he made the blade carbon steel, then, when stainless would have been easier to maintain. Or if he wanted a functional sword, why not just sheet metal for the guard? It's just a flat shaped guard, you'd think it would be easy to make it out of metal...

    Ah, fond memories of Zelda...

But the Master Sword just doesn't do it for me as a real sword.

I think that's actually a typo. The site says that the pommel and hilt are mild blued steel. Since the guard looks the same as the pommel, and is part of the hilt, I do believe the carved wood covered with leather is talking about the grip, not the guard. He just typed the wrong word in his description, is all.

Because thick sheet metal would probably weigh more than the entire sword. Thin sheet metal would be thin abd wobbly.

I think you're right, Broknpotre. I should've looked more carefully. The grip is obviously a different color than the guard and pommel, which match exactly.

I've dreamed for many a year to obtain this sword and call it my own. I would do anything to have an exact replica of the Master Sword.

    Hey guys,

There's a few of you I sent private messages to about this sword, check it out.

Please email me at david@barbarianblades.com to discuss replicas

I'm not supposed to post stuff about "selling" swords here.

    later!

Lol, David Blue from Barbarian blades makes them, and that's what I was going to post about... But, alas, be posted before I could get in here! He hasn't updated his site with anything on the Master Sword since early October, but he had quite a bit done then! (www.barbarianblades.com)

Check that out, for anyone still interested... He posted his email a bit above this post, and it's on his site as well! The one problem with his castings I can find (the ONLY one) is the weight... If he could cut it down some, I believe he'd have a lot more customers. But, he is very, very talented and his work never ceases to impress!

The Master Sword has always been one of the most popular swords. If only UC could make one...

The one on planet gamecube is beautfiul! I see that he made blue handle pieces as well!

wow, you've mad a great job on it!

the only thing to criticize(but the rest is absolutely perfect) is that the blue you used is "too" blue. it should be a little more purple. but that's only my opinion.

That IS a great job, its the closest to the real thing that ive ever seen in replication.

And im in agreement about the blue (also i think the gloss finish was a poor choice, especially on the handle)

I think that the blue handle you talk about is only the wax sculpture used to cast the guard! :D

No offence to greg, but barbarianmonkey's one looks sooooo much better. (though the finish on the holt is nicer the hilt itself looks kinda silly).
