This series is simply stunning in its scope and vision, possibly eclipsing anything else in the genre. The first book is a bit of a battle to read, but it just gets better from novel to novel afterward. Would have to be the best of the newer authors around at present (and I have read Martin, etc).
    Read it or die.

Haha, I have tried working out who the good guys and bad guys are, and I think Steven Erikson did a really good job of getting away from the GOOD Vs EVIL obsession with a lot of fantasy.
Hooray, I found a thread to talk about the Malazan books. I made one myself because I couldn't find any yesterday xD
I'm on book 4, House of Chains, at the moment. I like how the odd numbers are one story and the even are almost like a different story but they interconnect.
    It's different, and awesome.
Quick Ben is definitely my favourite xD

my fav character has to be Iskaral Pust (spl) powerful shadow sorceror and pure comedy!! :)

Iskarals wife : 'what would you do if i said i was pregnant?'

Iskaral replies : 'i'd kill the mule!'

she leaps at him.... PURE GENIOUS!!

I'm currently reading book three of this series and I was bored so I decided to see if there was a thread for it here. I liked book one enough but the second book couldn't keep me interested for some reason. I'm just about to chapter 6 of Memories of Ice and I am greatly enjoying it though it took me a couple pages to kinda remember what was going on. I started reading the book years ago and for some reason never continued. luckily I'm good at figuring out what's happening without having to go back and start from the beginning.

I like the series, very unconventional but cleverly done.
Need to reread it and finish the last couple of books.

I've only read the first book and am halfway through the second.

I am really enjoying the series. Especially the way it spans over so many different nations and people as well as the scale of it.

Tool is the baddest mofo though!
