Well fellow Vaulters, the wait is over. Many of us have loved these books for years and have waited with great anticipation for the movies. And now, thanks to New Line Cinema, Peter Jackson, Weta, a talented group of actors and writers, and about 3,000 extras, our dream has come true. I am proud to announce on Fantasy Vault today that The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has arrived.

Well, all i know is that i saw it last night (16th) at midnight... and the only two movies i've ever really cried in was the Two Towers and Return of the King. And now for the next 2 months or more i'll be lost in my LOTR reverie. Unfortunately when I get into that state i start acting like im the characters in the movie... But i'm proud of the job that Jackson did to stay so true to the books with the time that was given to him to film the movies ect. And i really really hope he does the Hobbit. That would be AWESOME!

It was terrific! Overall, it was very close to the book. But my guess is that it was the hardest to edit. I cried during the scene where Frodo and Sam are on Mt. Doom while the lava is flowing down. And as for when Aragorn is crowned king, I almost applauded with the crowd during the movie because I was so into the moment. I also had the honor of starting the applaud at the end.

I saw the midnight showing, aw, that movie is awsome!! It had all the emotions, happy, sad, scared, everything. Not only did it get you on the edge of your seat, but jumpin off it! This movie really is the end, and a great end at that.

ROTK was awesome, went to the midnight showing, absolutely loved it. They must have turned the volume up to full bore, far out it was loud. When the Witchking came out of his lair my ears just about exploded and when he came out on his screming fell beast, unreal!!!. Well done Peter Jackson

And the scene where Gandalf bids Faramir farewell is almost straight from the book.
