Now that the first 3 books are out what are your opinions of them? I have to admit when I heard they were going to release a series telling the story of the heresy I was really hoping they would do a decent job. And although not perfect I think they are actually pretty good. They are exciting, thoughtful and quite faithful to the original story, which has been around for ages. They are quite dark at times but there are some welcome light sections (Torgadden usually).

The only problem for me is that untill now the story has only been told looking back at it after 10,000 years. The Primarchs and the crusade were always historical figures and events, legendary, and its quite strange reading about them in the present tense. But thats just me.

But finally finding out exactly how it all came about is great and I reccomend them to anyone who is interested in the 40k universe.

So anyway what do you guys think. Without spoiling it for anyone who might not have read it.

You is right there mate. He was the best!

Each book is by a different author. Horus Rising is by Dan 'the man' Abnett.
    False Gods- Graham McNeill
    Galaxy in Flames- Ben Counter

And next year Flight of the Eisenstein is out by James Swallow.

Well Sanguinius is in book 1 but only for a bit. Hopefully people who read these will have knowledge of the Heresy beforehand. But everyone knows Sanguinius was the best.
