It seems like there is no set divination in the story, at least up to the point I've read so far. Though there is evidence of some type of sorcery. If we assume that these powers are drawn from some type of god, then I assume that there is indeed a divine power behind the story. What do you guys think? I like the fact that there are many different religious beliefs and factions at work.

me too. different people ( eg: Lannisters, Greyjoys, Starks ) worship different gods ( ie: different religens ) it is a point of conflict. Especially when a particular religion is defaced by a conquerer.

It's very similar to our world, which is what the intention is, I think.

Do you suppose there will ever be an appearance by one of the "gods" (AKA dragonlance theme)?

I suppose that it makes for a better story that way. I do, however, find it strange that some of this 'Magic' seems to be faith based. (AKA the Red Lady)

I hope not, Im not a big fan of the whole Gods-making-an-appearance-thing. I do like the different religions, and am interested in learning more, especially about the Old Gods and the Children Of The Forest.

Yea, me too. I am curious though as to whether or not some of these "Magics" are linked to one god or another. I don't want to see Fizban wandering around or anything, but some type of insight would be interesting.

The Red Lady interests me, she seems to have some divine power. I guess we'll just have to RAFO, as Jordan would say.
