Similar to App's thread "Live or Die," but this one focuses on whether people deserves/deserved to live or die. Not everyone has read the books. GoT spoilers are permitted, since you need to have read up to there to be in the Guild, but if you're posting CoK, SoS, or AFFC stuff, provide spoiler warnings and change the color to white. EDIT: Never mind. It's impossible to have a good discussion under these conditions. So WARNING! Material up to SoS is considered fair game; AFFC material must still be typed in white, however. Rhaegar? NOTE: This title was kindly contributed by App, and it's awesome!
This is too hard! lol Rhaegar - did he deserve to die? No. And I'm NOT just saying that because he was a hot Targaryen. He had intentions of turning things around when he got back from the Battle on the Trident, he said as much to Jaime. I honestly think with Aerys out of the picture he would have made a better king of Westeros than Robert Baratheon. Renly Baratheon?
Lol... maybe I should change the spoiler bit. People should read up to SoS for proper discussion! Yes, but not in the way he did. He wouldn't have made a very good king. OK, I'm changing the spoiler policy. Joff?
Definately deserved. It didn't come quick enough, that brat. Can you imagine what kind of king he would have made? Didn't Kevan or someone call him Aerys come again? This is hard because I think most people who died really didn't deserve to. The Hound IF he's dead?
Either Kaven or Tyrion, I believe... Yeah, it was Tyrion. A paraphrased quote: Tywin: "I did not come this far to put Robert II on the throne." (This bit refers to when Joff said, "A strong king is bold.") Tyrion: "Not Robert II. Aerys III." Ooooh. Definitely didn't/doesn't deserve to die. And App, it doesn't have to be people who died, it can be anyone who still lives... Like this: Cersei (DEFINITELY deserves to die. )
Of course she deserves to die, I think everyone knows why And why didn't the Hound deserve to die? Oberyn?
Because... the Hound rocks. What other reason is there? He's a very bitter man, hope life turns out to be better for him soon... Didn't deserve to die. Reasons: He was attempting to avenge his sister. He was a strong leader, and would have been good support for Dany. Aaaand... he was hot. Ned (If anyone says he deserved it, I'm never gonna talk to you again for real.)
Hell no he didn't deserve...Ned was one of my favorite charectors...But's that not the only reason...And I forget, was it Cersei or Jaime...or Joffrey who had him killed? Anyways it was one of those damned Lannister spawn... And thats almost the reason the Hound did deserve to die...he hated everything, mind as well just put him out of his misery... Sansa?
If I hadn't read AFFC I would say that Sansa deserved to die in a heartbeat. BUT - I think there's hope for her. She is the heir to Winterfell (Well, sort of...I guess women aren't considered for inheiritance are they?) and while that isn't enough of a reason alone, it's something. I think by the time Littlefinger is done with her she's going to be badass. Speaking of...Petyr Baelish?
He definately doesn't deserve to die. It seems like he's the only Martell with any sense at all. He's going to be the one to reign in Dorne and unite with Dany. Only speculation, of course, but I can see it happening. Margaery?
Suprisingly enough I am on the fence with this one. As for what he did as a lannister definantly, no doubt. As for the general part of him, he was a great commander and was kinda cool for that. (also he talked bad about joff the brat)
Poor guy. I think maybe he was a little impulsive but definately had what was best for Stannis in mind. I wish he hadn't died, but I think maybe it was necessary to show the readers how evil Melisandre is. Vargo Hoat? I mean, yeah he's a bad person...but no one deserves to die from a bite to the ear.
