Yeah I saw Clash when it was first released in cinemas. I was really into Harryhausen, I thought he was fantastic!.

I also saw Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger in cinemas when it first came out also - starting to show my age here - and hence these films have always held a place in my heart.

I think it was The Cave Of The Golden Rose. I had seen the series twice or so.
But I sure enjoy the series, and sure love the characters much.
Especially like the song. It's great & touching.
Strong impression they have on my siblings, which lasts till now.

When I was really young I saw Krull on TV and I did'nt have a clue what it was about, but yeah it gave me nightmares for a bit lol. It was the bit where the blind old wizard gets killed and replaced. Then they find his body rise out the swamp later. Seen it a few time since and laughed at it. And Labyrinth was another early one

It was probably the animated version of the Lord of the Rings back in '78. That's the only one that sticks in my mind, anyway. The Sinbad movies are probably a close
    second.:D

The first one that I remember watching, was Star Wars episode I. I was six or seven, and my dad had bought it and was very proud that I showed interest in that kind of things... :)

Must have been the first Lord of the Rings film. Not the one by Peter Jackson, but the one which is partly drawn and done in the late '70s.

Dragonslayer or Krull, though Clash of the Titans and Conan definitely were early...all early 81-83 movies that set me on the path.

Probably Mary Poppins when it first came out. (Yeah, I'm an old fart.) I also remember watching some blackand white Hercules movies on TV. Maybe the movies weren't black and white, I don't know, but our TV was.

i saw Watership down as a small child in theaters too... I started crying when it started because i didnt like the animation during the intro that showed how Great Frith made Elle Hrarah... then the normal movie/animation started and i loved it.

Hmmm... i was trying to reply to Molly Grue who had a similar experience of Watership down, but this forum just posts chronologically I guess... not like CL discussion. Sorry, total NOOB here

Star Wars I saw during its first TV appearance on a Sunday night, probably 79 or so. Loved it. Loved Indiana Jones, Willow, Clash of the Titans, and the old Sinbad claymation films too. All of them affected me, I was obsessed. Back in the late 70's/early 80's they had Starblazers on TV, also Showtime when it first became a network played Shogun Warriors: Grandizer (anime) and it was amazing, as well as a few other Shogun Warriors movies-- Spaceketeers, hmmm I can't remember the names of the other giant robot films but they were all pretty awesome.

Labyrinth. I grew up believing David Bowie was a goblin king.

It was either Legend (I think thats the name ofd the movie, sorry I had fantastic ADD so my short term memory fuses, its the one with Tom Cruise, haven't see it in a few years, cause I can't find the DvD) or Labyrinth. I was young when I watched both so I'm not sure which I saw first.

Unless you count disney, then disney would have been my first :)
