Is that what it's called? And its out!? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME!!!!!?????
(and yes, I do know the quotes from Discworld about five exclamation marks being the sign of an insane mind. That little bombshell may have pushed me off the edge)

    Here's a Hint.

Pterry's stuff gets published in the UK first before the US usually. If you go to Amazon.co.uk and search on his name you can find out what will be coming out and pre-order things. I do that all the time. They will list publication dates as soon as they know them, usually 6-9 months out. There's another one coming out in the fall -- Going Postal to be published October 7, 2004. Now mind postage is expensive from the UK but when you gotta have the latest Pratchett, you gotta have it.

I live in Australia, so it probably takes EVEN LONGER to get here.
Do you know what Going Postal is about?

No clue yet. Hatful of Sky a Young Adult book about a young witch who needs the witches we know to help her. Haven't gotten further than that.

Yes, I know Hatful of Sky is about Tiffany Aching, but nothing other than that.
Oh well, I'll get it soon (hopefully)
Who are you favourite Discworld characters?
Mine are Vimes, Vetinari, Twoflower and Susan

My favorites are The Librarian and Granny Ogg. Although the Patrician comes close there.

Saw a Hatful of Sky in the shop not long ago. :) Unfortunately I've already spent too much on books this month...

You must make Sacrifices if You are serious about Pratchett! :nono:

Who has read Small Gods? I think it's possibly the deepet and most meaningful d/w book I've read

To my defence, I was buying confirmation-present for my sister along with a few other books I'd been looking for so couldn't spare anything. ;)

I've read Small Gods, and it is indeed one of the deeper Discworld-books. :)

Finished "Soul Music" a little while ago... It was nice to see there's a least some kind of follow-up to "Mort", but did it have to be that sad :(...

Hehehehehhh, and another troll-dwarf friendship... love those :D

Are there other Susan books? I liked her personality and character, but it seemed that it has space to develop into something even more interesting... Her family tree certainly looks promising ;)

Other Susan books? Of course! :) Both Hogfather(the first Disc-book I read) and Thief of Time. I'm currently reading Soul Muisc myself...

Goodie :) Looking forward to them.

Pratchett's books are nice in that way that although many of them are closely connected to each other you don't have to read them in chronological order to enjoy the story. In a way it's even more interesting to start somewhere in the middle of the series and read 'how it all begun' later.

Yeah! I read the Last Continent first out of all the Rincewind books (I AM Australian) and it probably enhanced my reading experience.
Do you think that Brutha (from Small Gods) and Carrot are alike? I reckon they are.

Yay! I have found out what alt.fan.pratchett is!

Here, pretty much. The forum disappeard for some reason, couldn't get in...Some sort of conspiracy, I reckon. ;)

Now I lack two important Discworld-books: Moving Pictures and Eric.

    *looks around suspiciously*

    -ing harpsichord.

As you should be able to tell by now, I am reading the Truth again.

Haven't you read Moving Pictures? You poor, poor person. :(

So... should I read Hogfather before Soul Music? Will it make sense? Will it not be a spoiler for some things in Soul Music?

I've read Death books before, but only until Reaper Man... so no Susan yet.. but Hogfather was sitting in the bookstore the other day just begging to be brought home..

It doesn't really matter. All TP books stand pretty much alone, and so the only spoiler should be the Susan survives. I say read it!
