I've not even touched Red vs Blue on my 56k of dhoom!

lol yea...and "Chuck Norris and his son were watching bambi. When bambi's mother died, his started crying. Chuck Norris then proceeded to stand up, and roundhouse kick his son in the face, and said "I didn't raise a p*ssy"

    XD

Red vs Blue is good fun, remember im not an Xboxer, i havent played halo much but theyre still damn ass funny, theres a couple of other good things on that site like PANICS, a similar mockery of FEAR the game which is only 4 or 5 episodes long (less straining on your 56K BWAAHAHAHAA).

also theres pure pwnage, which is a mockumentary on pro-gamers

its not like a gaint step, these days good broadband can be just as cheap as dialup. plus if you do get it you can fully sympathise with the early CAd comics the 'i hate dailup' and the one where they get broadband.

Trust me, I've tried. I still bring up the issue at least once every two weeks.

try more and more, it depends on the perosn though, if you keep going youll wear down their barriers and eventually theyll slip up, and at that point dive in and never let go untill youve got broadband.

My dad's OK with the idea, but my mom thinks that computers are evil or something. Oh well, two and a half years and I'm on my own... goodbye to AOL and hello to cable! :D

computers evil? who pays for your connection anyway? if its your dad whose OK then it shouldnt be a problem, but if its a join thing, use this to justify your arguement; if computers are evil then getting a higher speed connection would be better as you wouldnt need to be exposed for the evilness for as long.

you can also alter the arguement if your a compulsive internet user, if your parents complain about spending time on the net then use the same argument, 'faster connection, less time needed'

Lol... this is assuming that my mom's argument is LOGICAL?

Don't get me wrong, she's a nice person and all, except when it concerns computers. And my dad isn't willing to go through the one week temper problem she's gonna have if we get cable.

And my parents don't know how much time I spend on the 'net anyway. :p

well the thing with people using illogical arguement is its harder to beat them with normal logic than it is to use theirs, if they have false assumptions you can play on them to your advantage.

sorry, an A-level psychology course and a current fondness for poker and the psych-out/manipulation elements of it have made me very deductive of late. if i see an obstance i wont settle for excuses, and neither should you.

You've never had knives chucked at you, have you...

Also, I'm terrified that she'll delete all my stuff on the computer. I save what I can on my storage device, but if she removed everything... or she'd probably resort to blackmail (e.g. making me quit all my music stuff). Frankly, it's less of a bother to just wait and get cable as soon as I'm 18.
