I'm for the classics. FF IV and VI for me. Super NES all the way baby!
VI was godlike. Kefka is one of the best villains ever
IV...is that the one with the main character turning into the Dark Knight?
IV was the Dark Knight who wanted to atone for his sins, and became a Paladin. It had a story told well beyond the means at the time. Betrayed by his friend the Dragoon Kain, losing his love Rosa.... it was awesome.
Don't tell me IV was Cecil?
Man just hearing that guy's name makes me want to stab him...Cecil...its just so...UNcool
I still have to get around to playing IV...my friend keeps telling me to play it, he loved it.
It is an amazing game....... it's also the hardest of the series. But well worth it.
I've just gotten into the series so I've only played X at this point (my sister borrowed it from a friend), but I'm addicted and I plan to play as many as I can get my hands on. If I can find a PC version of VII that will run on XP, thats probably the next on my list because the PS2 I'm playing X on is my sister's and lives in a different state than me for most of the year. She has a playable demo of XII and I can't wait until it comes out, because it looks stunning, visually. As pretty as X is, this looks a million times better. The battle system looks a little annoying, though, its kind of turn based and real time at the same time.
It's ATB guage I believe. I always preferred the ATB gauge compared to X's failure turn based stuff. With ATB your speed ACTUALLY has an affect. In X...raising your speed hardly get's you more attacks -.-
I suggest starting with 7 dol....for the PS1, their really cheap...abotu £10-£15 and the game is really cheap. Plus it's a lot more fun playing console than PC (played VIII on PC).
I loved 7 and X, really need to get X-2, i do own the online one but didnt like it. 7 is the best all round only thing letting it down is sound effects (not the music thats amazing) and the graphics.
Mine is the FF8. I played FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8 and FF9 (the ff10 and ff11 i haven't played because i was too lazy to get ps2), and of all of them i liked the ff8 best.
mostly because of the plot that has this special atmosphere, then because of the graphics, i liked carachters more than those of ff8 (naturally, sephiroth doesn't count, he is still my favourite, vincent as well), they have special personallity. and they aren't as numerous, so you have the possibility to get emotionally involved with them. i liked that.
