No raisins, but it did have cinnamon, seeds, and a couple of different herbs.
Nice! I love homemade bread. Besides, a house smells amazing when there's bread baking inside it.
I baked... a cake. With fondant. And stuff. For the first time ever... and I'd say it turned out okay.
The pics are on my phone right now, but I'll upload them at some point.
I'm just amazed at how much time this can consume...
That's awesome! I've never worked with fondant before, is it hard? Can't wait to see pictures of the cake you made.
Two pictures of mine/Stormborns baking endeavors today.
Sticky Toffee Puddings & Saffron Buns.
Oh god those look delicious, hatter!! yum!
Working with fondant is not too hard. It's a little tricky but so far nothing impossible.
(kudos to everyone who knows shadowrun )
And last x-mas I didn't only give you my heart, I also made a bunch of those:
That was a whole other level of ****ing work:
Both look really super cool. And delicious! (And kudos to me for knowing what Shadowrun is )
shouldn't have entered here
now my stomach is growling
*looks superb guys*
All these delicious-looking baked good pictures make me wanna bake (even though I just had a baking frenzy last Friday night). Everything looks so good, guys!
I'm going to have to show my husband that cake when he wakes up because he loves Shadowrun.
I am currently baking a two-layer pumpkin spice cake with a layer of cheesecake filling in the middle, which is to be topped off with pumpkin mousse and decorated with these cute little Wilton pumpkins I found at the baking shop today. I don't have much experience with multi-layer cakes, so I'm a little nervous about how the resulting product will turn out. Hopefully I'm not being overly ambitious. I'm kind of screwed if it doesn't turn out.
I've got some over-ripe bananas in the freezer, think I need to get my bake on this weekend and use them.....maybe some banana muffins, I owe my neighbours a thankyou for some help during a storm recently
I've got to do some baking next weekend when I have guests over for tea & cake :S Not entirely sure what I'm going to do but NO NUTS, must remember that, as one of my friends is allergic & I really don't want to kill her - so off to the Good Housekeeping book I go!
you'll be fine/are fine. That cake up there was my first multi-layered cake as well. Wasn't that hard (a little tricky but maybe because I don't have the right utensils)
Yeah, I was amazed at how smoothly it went. lol I was convinced it would end up being a disaster, but it all worked out and the cake was a huge hit. I'm glad we both had successful first attempts at making multi-layer cakes!
Wow, all of those look really awesome!
Any suggestions on what I could bake this wednesday?! I need inspiration and the interwebs have failed so far (outrageous!!)
Maybe some type of cookies? I've seen a recipe floating around online recently for apple cider cookies that have a caramel filling. Sounded really good.
I've been looking into historical reenactment groups and have seen some opportunities for medieval recipes, perhaps something along those lines? Possibly more simple, similar yet different to other methods. $.02
OMG.... I want to visit all you bakers!!!!
Down with the failed interwebs!!!!
Currently I'm addicted to baking pumpkin spice muffins....very tasty.
