From what I remember seeing it look alot like a standard ROhirrim sword, which didn't make much sense.

Doesn't look like it. There should be one in the desgin galleries, you could get it there. However I do not possess the means to accomplish said venture.

I just checked my extended TTT DVD, and they've only got 9 pictures of Theodred's busted armour and costume, but nothing on his sword.
His burial scene had these. It does look a lot like Eowyn's. Single fuller, not as sturdy a blade as Eomer or Theoden.

You would think being Theodens heir he would have a fairly robust weapon to hold...nice pics Mububban.

You would think...But he was just a boy...I believe mid-teens...not sure though...and i suppose though unlikely that might also be a ceremonial sword...his actual one lost in fords where he died...

Theodred was born TA 2978 died 3019 so he was 41... whats even more astonishing is that his father Theoden was born 2948 died 3019 making him 71 when he rode to war...

Plus if they buried him with it, what did Eowyn use if it was her sword?

Hmmm...that's interesting...I wonder if Jackson decided to interpret it differently then...Because maybe it's just me but I don't think that Theodred looks 41 in The Two Towers...

PS I suppose it is possible that Rohan age differently than we do... :)

Keep in mind that "back then" in Tolkien's Middle Earth, the race of Men lived for far longer than modern humans. Aragorn was about 86 in TTT, and he lived to almost 200 I think? He knew Theoden as a boy and rode to war with his father, Thengel. So Theodred being 41 and only looking 20-odd is reasonable.

Heck, Hobbits are still considered children until they're what, about 30?

That didn't even make it into the origional movie...they might have just slapped Eowyen's sword in there just because.

I found it! I found Théodred's sword! It's very similar to Éowyn's, but it's green instead of red... You can see it in Weta's Armour Gallery, image nine.

I was wondering when someone would post this hehe, I found the site last night. Hes got cool armour too, sword looks good, except the odd scabbard that leaves some of the blade exposed like Theodens, looks the same sword as Eowyn's just a different scabbard. They've also named Theodreds sword as Eowyns (no. 19 in weapons section) and you can see the difference between the scabbards.

It's difficult to see, but it looks like green highlights were added to the hilt components. Odd colour choice, though. I thought they were going for red as a particular mark of royalty. Théodred would be more likely to have "the red one" than Éowyn.
