I've never read a book by Terry Pratchett in my life, but yesterday I got the first book in the Discworld series. Who here has read them? Do you recommend?

    WHAT HOW?!

Crouton I order you to sit down and read the book and not stop till you've read the last one in the series! It's a fantastic series of books and you've made, what I feel, is the right choice in starting at the beginning. Whilst each book can be read alone there is an overarching world story going on and if you miss out on earlier books some of the latter puns and events can lose a little of their sting if you've not read about some events from before.

It's a great series and I'd honestly strongly recommend them!

He's one of my absolutely favourite authors ever! And I actually prefer his later books to the first ones. He just gets better and better ;)

I got The Colour of Magic I hope that's the first one. I wasn't going to start it until I finish A Game of Thrones.

I've read the first book and I started his second. I really loved the first one though, I should get on with reading more Pratchett.

If you aren't going to start it until 2089, I don't see what the rush is.

Oh, sorry, you're finishing the book first, not the whole series. Sorry. Ignore me.

Haha yeah, I'm only reading the first book now, not a whole Song of Fire and Ice.

I read the first, then started the second but never got into it. I then read the second fully a year ago. I should really read more.

My favourite Pratchett book is “Good Omens” which he wrote with Neil Gaiman. One of my favourite books in general actually.

I was never able to decide which on eof Pratchett's books was my favourite. I guess I enjoy those that feature the Watch most, but then again, I really enjoy them all.
