    Hey,

Heres something that can help you somewhat, aiming. You can make a dummy, a wooden dummy. How you do it I will explain once I get the pictures of mine. It is a wooden dummy, then a shirt filled with other shirts so that the body area is realistic. It works, but I need to re-do the base and get some sandbags. Is anyone interested?

This thing you want to build is acually called a pell! I have one and made it out of an empty plastic 50 gal. drum, and 3 old tires... all free! and I beat on it all the time practicing for sca fighting!

I used an old sign post platent with about two feet of it in the ground. tis about 6x8 I used fro swords work and to throw knives at. sadly I moved and I ahd to leave my pell at home. I think i should make a new one soon.

Gavaha, do you use a sharp sword with that?
There is a medieval poem called "The Poem Of the Pell"; it advises also sparring with the pell with a sword that is twice the weight of your regular weapon.
"Of fight the disciplyne and exercise,
Was this. To have a pale or pile upright (pell)
Of mannys light, thus writeth old and wise, (man's height)
Therewith a bacheler, or a yong knyght,
Shal first be taught to stonde and lerne to fight
And fanne of double wight tak him his shelde, (practice shield)
Of double wight a mace of tre to welde. (wood)"

There's also tameshigiri, which involves rolling up a tatami mat (like a grass beach mat), soaking it in water, and cutting it with a sharp sword. Dangerous if you're not careful, but fun!
